Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units, maintaining hygiene standards, clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs promptly, ensuring a clean dining environment, and load buspans and trays efficiently, preparing them for dishwashing
- The candidates should be able to operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation, place dishes in the storage area systematically, organizing them for easy access, and sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand when necessary, ensuring thorough cleaning
- The candidates should be able to keep records of the quantities of food used, aiding in inventory management, package take-out food neatly and securely, ensuring it is ready for customers, and portion and wrap foods accurately, maintaining consistency and quality
- The candidates should be able to prepare, heat, and finish simple food items according to established recipes and procedures, serve customers at counters or buffet tables courteously and efficiently, and stock refrigerators and salad bars with fresh ingredients, ensuring availability for service
- The candidates should be able to take customers’ orders accurately, noting any special requests or dietary restrictions, use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs as required, and clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment regularly
- The candidates should be able to handle and store cleaning products safely, following proper procedures and protocols, receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas neatly and efficiently, and remove kitchen garbage and trash promptly, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene
- The candidates should be able to sharpen kitchen knives as needed, ensuring they remain in optimal condition for use, sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors regularly, keeping the kitchen area clean and safe, and wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit accurately, preparing them for cooking or serving
