General construction labourer Full-time Job

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Security and safety: Criminal record check

 

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be comfortable working in noisy environments and able to work in dusty conditions
• The candidates should be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and capable of working under pressure
• The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks and adept at meeting tight deadlines
• The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and demonstrate hand-eye coordination
• The candidates should be able to handle weights up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
• International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to load, unload, and transport construction materials and perform pre-operational inspections
• The candidates should be able to clean and lubricate cranes and erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
• The candidates should be able to mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt and operate cranes equipped with dredging attachments to dredge waterways and other areas
• The candidates should be able to operate gantry cranes to load and unload ship cargo at portside and operate locomotive cranes to move objects and materials at railway yards
• The candidates should be able to assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites and assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
• The candidates should be able to assist in demolishing buildings and perform routine maintenance work
• The candidates should be able to tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction and direct traffic at or near construction sites
