Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Computer and technology knowledge: Word processing software, Central reservation system (CRS), Spreadsheet, and Internet

Location: 500 Osprey Ln, Tofino, BC V0R 2Z0, Canada
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Morning
Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence
Work setting: Hospitality industry, Staff accommodation available, Hotel, motel, and resort

Physical Requirements:

    • The candidates should have a strong attention to detail and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be comfortable standing for extended periods

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate a strong client focus and exhibit dependability in their work
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills, have excellent oral communication abilities, and demonstrate excellent written communication skills
  • The candidates should be flexible in their approach to tasks and responsibilities, exercise good judgment in decision-making, and be organized in their work habits
  • The candidates should be reliable in meeting deadlines and commitments and be effective team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to register arriving guests and assign rooms, process group arrivals and departures, and take, cancel, and change room reservations
  • The candidates should be able to provide information on hotel facilities and services, general information about points of interest in the area, and investigate and resolve complaints and claims
  • The candidates should be able to exchange foreign currency, process guests’ departures, calculate charges, and receive payments, and balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms
  • The candidates should be able to maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments, follow emergency and safety procedures, and perform clerical duties (i.e., faxing, filing, photocopying)
  • The candidates should be able to answer telephone calls and relay messages, assist clients/guests with special needs, handle wake-up calls, and provide customer service
