ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·       Reporting directly to the District Manager the Site Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining profitable relationships with our Client. As the primary external representative to our customer, the Site Manager must convey a sense of expertise in all of our services in a professional manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Schedules guards on the site

·       Creates and maintains client Post Orders.

·       Creates strong customer relationships.

·       Establishes and maintains an effective liaison with the client through regularly scheduled calls and communications as outlined in Best Practices.

·       Resolves all client and guard issues in consultation with District Manager

·       Responds and resolves site emergencies and issues.

·       Supports Branch Office

·       Ensures compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act.

·       Investigates accidents and/or critical injuries on-site.

·       Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

·       Must be self motivated and have the ability to relate to and communicate with individuals at all levels.

·       Must be able to organize and prioritize to support an effective/efficient operation and accomplishment of stated goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·       University degree or College diploma in a related field or combination of experience and education

·       Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience preferably within the Security industry is essential.

Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises. Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons. Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations. Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents. Prepares logs and reports as required. Specific duties or tasks may vary and be documented separately. The employee might not be required to perform all functions listed. We are seeking Part Time Security Guards in Richmond Hill for Data Centres.

Position Overview:

Wages: $ 19.86 an hour.

Shift timings: Part Time Weekends

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform access control provision duties by performing handheld metal detection wand searches.
• Monitor activity in data centre and ensure proper screening is completed of client employees before allowing them into restricted areas.
• Escalate incidents to Responder Guard or Shift Supervisor.
• Respond to medical emergencies and be prepared to perform CPR and AED if needed.
• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
• 1.5 years of security guard experience
• Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response.
• Must be able to meet the eligibility requirements for a Reliability Clearance through the Government of Canada.

JOB SUMMARY: As part of Securitas Mobile operation provides guard services to project a security presence, which may include operating a vehicle to perform patrol, inspection, and/or incident response services.

The Team

Welcome to the Adult Custody Division team. As an employee at one of ten correctional centres, you will work alongside a team of correctional officers towards the common goal of maintaining the safety and security of the individuals in our custody. Correctional officers have the opportunity to rotate through designated posts in several departments, each of which is overseen by a correctional supervisor and the broader management team to provide direction and guidance. This position is responsible for case management, and program facilitation to support our organizational efforts to reduce recidivism and create positive change. Through this process, correctional officers collaborate with numerous professionals committed to the same purpose, including educators, health professionals, chaplains, Indigenous Cultural Liaisons, volunteers and community partners.

The Role

The Adult Custody correctional officer is responsible for maintaining the security and safety of individualsin custody through pro-social modelling, program delivery, and offering positive guidance and clear direction. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to take an active role in creating a supportive environment and behavioural change for individuals in custody. This role offers an opportunity to work in multiple departments within the correctional centre alongside a team of dedicated professionals. Adult Custody Division, part of BC Corrections, is responsible for the care and custody of approximately 2,800 individuals and plays a leading role in the criminal justice system.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

• 19 years of age or older
• Grade 12 or equivalent*
• Grade 12 English with a final grade of 70% or equivalent*
• Valid BC Driver's license (minimum class 5), or equivalent from another province.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada (you must be legally permitted to work in Canada at the time you apply for a position either through citizenship or permanent residency)

About this Position:

There are multiple regular full-time positions available, based out of the location listed above.
This position has full time on-site requirements.
Correctional centres are 24-hour operations. Successful applicants will be required to work evenings/weekends/holidays and a variety of shift patterns.
