Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of work experience: Teaching
Own tools/equipment: Tools, Uniform, Safety equipment/gear, Equipment and Steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Housekeeping room attendant certification, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and Fall Arrest Protection Training Course
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check and Reference required

Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours, To be determined, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Own transportation, Willing to travel, Willing to travel regularly and Public transportation is available
Work setting: Cleaning locations

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be non-smoking and have the ability to work independently
• The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and be capable of handling repetitive tasks and heavy loads in physically demanding environments
• The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling, as well as a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
• The candidates should be willing to work overtime when required and be able to sit, stand for extended periods, and walk
• The candidates should be able to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs), up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs), up to 23 kg (50 lbs), up to 45 kg (100 lbs), between 45 and 60 kg (100-132 lbs), between 61 and 80 kg (133-176 lbs), and between 81 and 100 kg (177-220 lbs)

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, dust furniture, and vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture
• The candidates should be able to make beds and change sheets, distribute clean towels and toiletries, and stock the linen closet
• The candidates should be able to clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances, disinfect operating rooms and other areas, and clean and disinfect elevators
• The candidates should be able to handle and report lost and found items, attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies or other items, and provide basic information on facilities
• The candidates should be able to pick up debris and empty trash containers, assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, and launder clothing and household linens
• The candidates should be able to mend clothing and linens, perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, and shop for food and household supplies
• The candidates should be able to wash windows, walls, and ceilings, clean changing rooms and showers, and address customers’ complaints or concerns
