Reporting to the Unit Manager for Pediatric Ambulatory Care, the position is a frontline position that provides administrative support for multiple Pediatric Physicians and Pediatric Ambulatory programs. This role includes scheduling appointments connect care, verifying patient information, admitting and discharging patients, copying, faxing, scanning, ordering office supplies, providing admin support to the entire unit and other administrative tasks. Cross training to other ambulatory units will be required. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and work under pressure as daily work activities can change depending on the priorities of the Ambulatory Programs. The Successful candidate will require excellent communication skills, collaborate effective with others and be able to work in a team environment.

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Successful completion of Post-Secondary Secretarial / Unit Clerk Training course with Medical terminology required. Two or Three years of recent Pediatric acute and / or Pediatric Ambulatory care experience required. Proficiency with medical terminology and strong computer and typing skills required. Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel database, and Connect Care required. BCLS-HCP is required. Must be able to push/pull/lift 50lbs and work in awkward positions. Strong computer skills required. Professional behavior and excellent interpersonal skills are required when working with the public in this position. Must be able to work effectively in a complex, busy, noisy clinic environment and complete tasks while dealing with multiple interruptions and competing priorities. Preferred Qualifications:Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and ability to adapt quickly are desirable qualities.
