Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Hair styling techniques: Blow drying, Hair braiding, Iron waving/curling, Permanents, Twisting, Pin curls, and Roller setting

Work setting: Barbershop or hairstyling salon/studio
Hair colouring techniques: Bleach, Dyes/tints and Streaking/highlights
Credentials: Hairstylist Licence

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• The candidates should be adept at handling repetitive tasks
• The candidates should possess manual dexterity for intricate tasks
• The candidates should have a strong attention to detail
• The candidates should demonstrate excellent hand-eye coordination

• The candidates should be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
• The candidates should be capable of standing for extended periods

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to book appointments, perform receptionist duties, and maintain and order supplies
• The candidates should be able to shampoo customers’ hair, analyze hair and scalp conditions, and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for the scalp and hair
• The candidates should be able to apply bleach, tints, dyes, or rinses to color, frost, or streak hair, and cut, trim, taper, curl, wave, perm, and style hair
• The candidates should be able to suggest a hairstyle compatible with the client’s physical features or determine the style from the client’s instructions and preferences
