WestJet's Customer Service Agents are responsible for helping our guests have a positive experience getting through the airport and on to the aircraft. You are often the first in-person point of contact for our guests and play a crucial role as a WestJet brand ambassador.

 

Your expertise is essential in providing a safe and stress-free experience by helping guests check-in, supporting self-serve kiosks, preparing the aircraft for on-time departure, executing successful deplaning and boarding processes, greeting our most recent arrivals, assisting guests with connections, and more!  You are there to help our guests, while creating the experience our guests have come to know and love about WestJet.  

 

What you will bring to the team: 

  • You are a true customer service agent and come with a minimum of two years’ experience in a customer-facing role. 
  • You understand the importance of safely performing on-time and bring a proven track record for punctuality and reliability. 
  • You are a multitasker, comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment, and work well under pressure. 
  • You must have the ability to walk long distances, stand for extended periods of time and be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • You are an effective communicator with demonstrated proficiency with computers and recent experience using Windows-based software. 
  • Prior experience working in an airline, travel, tourism or hospitality would be considered an asset. 
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule. You will be required to work shift work, as we are a 24/7 operation. 
  • Candidates must be proficient in reading the English language as one requirement to be successful in the completion of training.Our training environment has evolved and has become more virtual and self-directed than in the past. This change has resulted in an increase in reading requirements via independent and on-line learning as an integral part of the training program.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Providing a safe and positive airport experience for our guests travelling through our airport.
  • Perform guest service tasks such as processing service fees, creating new and/or changing reservations, issuing tickets, support self-serve kiosks, assisting guests with mobility issues, aircraft arrivals and departures.
  • Troubleshooting Concerns - Assisting guests with itinerary changes, supporting guests with disrupted flights as well as delayed and damaged baggage. Providing a safe and positive airport experience for our guests travelling through our airports.
  • Follow all procedures to safely perform on time (SPOT).
  • Ensure and uphold exceptional guest service standards.
  • Effectively manage uncomfortable or challenging situations with the public.
  • Carry oneself with the utmost professionalism and poise while on-duty or in the public eye.
  • Must adhere to uniform and appearance standards as prescribed under company policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Overview of role:

 

WestJet is seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager to join our team. As the Person Responsible for Maintenance Control, this individual is accountable for all technical responsibilities of the AOC but may delegate specific duties to key technical operations personnel.

 

Key deliverables include:

 

  • Manage WestJet Encore’s maintenance control system, with the authorization to remove aircraft from operation due to non-compliance with regulations, or if the operation of the aircraft could have an adverse effect on the safety of the aircraft.
  • Implementation of the elements of the Safety Management System (SMS) as identified in CARs 107, 705.151, 705.154 and 706.15, as defined in the WestJet Encore Safety Manual.
  • Ensure that the person delegated with the management functions for the Quality Assurance program maintains an audit program, including the administration of findings and corrective actions as required by CAR 706.07 (3) and (4).
  • Ensure the implementation of effective corrective actions under the Quality Assurance program to eliminate or reduce the risk of the cause or probable cause of all hazards, incidents and accidents identified under the SMS.
  • Escalate significant occurrences, major findings, systemic findings and actions taken, and adverse trends that require additional resources to the Accountable Executive.
  • Liaise with Transport Canada on regulatory and aviation safety matters.
  • The AOC role is inclusive of, but not limited to:
      • Responsible for the administration of all AOC technical operations requirements
      • Responsible for the formulation of policies and procedures consistent with the safe, reliable and efficient operation, and maintenance of aircraft.
      • Engage in activity regarding budgeting fleet planning, facilities and staffing levels.
      • Responsible to ensure the regulatory compliance for the CMTS and the Maintenance Program including:
        1. Compliance of the computerized maintenance tracking system to the Maintenance Schedule Approval.
        2. Ensuring entry of items related to the scheduling of maintenance, elementary work and servicing.
      • Monitor and evaluate the results of Corrective Actions resulting from the Quality and Reliability Program.
      • Fulfills the role of Manager as specified in the Quality and Safety Management System as well as any tasks assigned to that role within the SMS.
      • Establish and maintain a reporting and safety data system to ensure the timely collection of information related to hazards, incidents and accidents that may adversely affect safety.
      • Authorization of ferry flights in accordance with the conditions and limitations set forth within the MCM and PSM
      • Ensuring the safety of personnel, guests and corporate resources by following and promoting all safety-related policies and procedures, and being proactive in managing operational risk by recognizing and reporting potential hazards and participating in safety initiatives.
      • Other duties as assigned and requested by the Director, Flight Operations, WestJet Encore.

 

 

Experience and qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of six years' experience in the performance of Transport Category Aircraft Maintenance and/or direct supervision of maintenance activities of the type undertaken by the organization, at least six months of which shall have been obtained within the preceding two years.
  • Must hold a valid AME license (M, E or S License)
  • Successful completion of Transport Canada CARs examination and interview applicable to a maintenance manager, with the expectation of demonstrating knowledge and competency to qualify for PRMC in a future successful interview with Transport Canada.
  • Does not have any convictions under the Aeronautics Act or the Canadian Aviation Regulations and is able to successfully complete a security clearance

Key deliverables include:

· Duties of this position encompass a broad spectrum of tasks within 3 different departments. Some of the responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

· Schedule management and support for the Vice President level calendars

· Book business and personal travel of VPs and their families

· Manage and secure confidential and sensitive information and exercise significant judgment and discretion regarding all communications

· Prepare meeting agendas and taking accurate minutes

· Provide professional and tactful guest service regarding internal calls, government officials calls/meet & greets , e-mails and meetings attendance

· Compose and send routine and non-routine correspondence on behalf of leaders

· Handle all arrangements for meetings including booking meeting rooms (internal & external venues), catering needs, and travel requirements

· Prepare expense forms on behalf of Senior leadership team

· Ensuring time entry sign off (via Kronos)

· Assist with invoice management and coordination of purchase order generation

· Coordinating the onboarding, seating and technical set-up for new employees across the Health, Safety and Inflight teams

· Regularly plan and execute medium size social events in 5 locations across Canada.

· Other administrative duties as needed to support the team leaders

 

Experience and qualifications:

· 5 years’ administrative assistant experience

· Post Secondary Education in related field

· Strong written and oral communication skills required with proven experience dealing with confidential communications

· Advanced knowledge of MS Teams and Sharepoint

· Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

· Experience with SABRE reservation system

· Attention to detail and accuracy of work

· Strong organization and time management skills; proven ability to deal with multiple tasks in a fast paced environment

· Ability to work independently with little direction
