As a Dock Supervisor you will be responsible for the supervision of overall dock operations, including day-to-day processes and procedures, to ensure safety and optimal dock performance.
How You’ll Help:
- Provide daily guidance and motivation to Dock Workers (employees and agency workers) to ensure achievement of operational objectives for the terminal.
- Escalates issues of individual poor performance, inappropriate behavior, absenteeism, etc. to the Operations Manager.
- Communicates monthly performance stats to the team to help measure, develop and improve operational performance.
- Maintain policies and procedures and ensure compliance with federal and provincial transportation, safety, and employment legislation.
- Ensure all incidents (personal injuries, transportation collisions, spills, near misses, etc.) are promptly reported, documented, an investigation is initiated and corrective/preventative measures are implemented.
- Hold effective, weekly toolbox meetings and ensure safety issues are addressed.
- Works with the team and others, internal and external to the terminal, to resolve roadblocks to achievement of daily operational objectives.
- Ensure the AM schedule for the terminal is followed.
- Works with the Operations Manager to track monthly performance stats for the dock
- Supervise a group of Dock Workers, both employee and contractor/agency, directly and indirectly through Lead Hands.
- Other duties related to dock operations as may be required.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Post-secondary education, preferably in operations, logistics, or business
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Minimum of five years' experience in the transportation industry or warehousing industry, preferably dock operations
- Previous leadership experience and/or experience in the transportation industry are strong assets
- Strong leadership skills specifically the ability to motivate and drive engagement to achieve objectives, facilitate conflict resolution, and to provide training
- Advanced communication skills, particularly verbal
- Computer skills, including the use of MS Word, Excel & Outlook, and web-based programs as well as RF scanners. Experience using AS400, a strong asset
- Strong interpersonal skills including customer focus
- Results driven
- Appropriate sense of urgency
- Strong sense of safety; training and experience in similar safety sense environments a strong asset
- Knowledge of industry-related equipment, including forklifts, lift jacks, trailers, etc. a strong asset

(i) Redirects contractors where minor deficiencies in the performance of work specifications are noted and reports on major deviations in contract performance on existing contracts;
(j) Performs work that requires adherence to safety procedures/practices when dealing with hazards;
(k) Required to utilize tact and diplomacy and refer tenants to other staff where appropriate. Required to exercise interpersonal and conflictresolution skills when dealing with the resident population.
2. Other related duties:
(a) Responds to emergenciesincluding non-maintenance calls when Building Manager is not on site and makes emergency repairs or calls emergency services (police, fire, mental health);

Responsibilities
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating loaders, excavators, and other heavy machinery to manage the handling and flow of bulk mineral concentrates—primarily copper, gold, and ore—within the terminal. Major Responsibilities

You Possess
- Valid Heavy Equipment Operator Certificate is an asset
- Previous experience operating heavy mobile equipment (Cat 980 or equivalent Front End Loader and Cat D6 or equivalent Dozer experience).
- Minimum 2,000 hours of loader and/or excavator operation in an industrial, mining, or bulk material handling environment.
- Experience working in a port, terminal, mining, or bulk commodity setting is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with equipment maintenance procedures; mechanical aptitude (welder, mechanic, or machinist experience) is a bonus but not required.

How you will make contributions that matter:
- Carries out preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Trouble shoots and repairs equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production efficiencies are achieved.
- Have responsibility for stock room management and provide order request of parts required for routine and preventive maintenance.
- Carries out equipment installations, modifications, and complete equipment changeover, as required.
- Handles troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs, preventative/predictive Maintenance Plans and spare parts supply room.
- Co-ordinate and oversee contractors, as required.
- Ensure all equipment are maintained properly. Ensure availability of replacement parts for key manufacturing equipment to minimize unnecessary machine downtime.
- Works with other trades groups to complete project assignments and provide training to Plant staff as required.
- Documents and maintains all appropriate records.
- Follow all GMP’s and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory quality and sanitation requirements.
- Comply and ensure all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WSIB, and company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties, as assigned, by Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Manager.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- Professional Certificate of Industrial Maintenance (Ex. 442A Certificate of Qualification) or Equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting, equipment repairs, welding experience is a must
- Minimum 1 year of experience related to food industry, preferably dairy, or high-speed process equipment or packaging experience
- Pneumatics and hydraulics knowledge
- Boiler, refrigeration, and air handling systems experience is an asset
- Able to read Blueprint, must be able to trouble shoot, and have analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- High level of self-motivation and initiative
- Dependable with a good attendance and safety record
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
- Ability to support all shifts (days and afternoons), incl. weekends and overtime, and/or being on call.
