What you will do:
- Plans delivery routes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs according to resources available. Consolidates regular shipments to maintain efficiency.
- Determines appropriate method of transportation required according to budgets and policies.
- On a daily basis, arranges shipping schedules according to the immediate needs of customers and branches. Consolidates shipments to maintain efficiency.
- Assists with shipping.
- Collect freight quotes for special shipments.
- Investigates damage or breakage to the material during transport.
- Maintains a daily log of material shipped.
- Compiles shipping documentation. Notifies appropriate individual of any discrepancies or adjustments needed to the routes.
- Prepares reports on commitment levels.
- Responsible of upgrading photo PODs
What you will bring:
- Previous dispatching experience required
- AS400/Syntax is an asset
- Knowledge of industry (Plumbing and or HVAC) products is an asset
- General basic computer skills including Microsoft Office is required
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Must be dependable and reliable and willing to take initiative
- Must be organized, clean and able to multi-task
