Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Area of specialization: Landscape construction, Plant knowledge and identification, Additional information
Equipment and machinery experience: Weed trimmer/edger, Sod cutter, Small engine equipment, Roto-tiller, Lawn mowers, Chain saw
Construction specialization: Automated irrigation system, Fieldstone paths, Interlocking brick, Ornamental ponds, fountains and waterfalls, Poured concrete, Retaining walls, Stone garden walls, Irrigation and drainage
Landscaping experience: Residential projects, Commercial and/or industrial construction
Specialization or experience: Green economy sector, Specialized environmental skills and knowledge
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, and Gloves
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract), Driver’s validity licence check

Transportation information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation, and Public transportation is not available
Work setting: Construction company, Various locations, Lawn care company, Landscape contractor, and Landscape maintenance

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors
• The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and exhibit attention to detail
• The candidates should be capable of handling repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, and being physically fit for demanding tasks
• The candidates should possess manual dexterity, the ability to distinguish between colors, and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
• The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods, be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• The candidates should have hand-eye coordination and be able to walk

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to water, tend to plants, lawns, and gardens, apply fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides, pesticides, and other lawn care products, and apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas, and injecting with treatment solutions
• The candidates should be able to plan and construct landscaped environments, including trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios, and other landscape structures, plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens, and plant and move trees
• The candidates should be able to weed, prune, and trim trees and plants, repair and maintain equipment, remove litter and garbage, and plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees
• The candidates should be able to lay sod or seed, cut grass, cart and spread topsoil and other materials, assist with landscape constructions, apply fertilizers, rake and collect refuse, and operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment
