As part of an amazing network of 100 Road Assist team members, you'll share your genuine passion for helping others by providing friendly and professional roadside mechanical assistance or towing services to members of BCAA and affiliated clubs.

As a Road Assist Fleet Technician, you’ll use your mechanical expertise and problem-solving skills to help Members get back on the road safely and efficiently. Whether changing a tire, diagnosing an issue, or arranging a tow, you’ll be the reassuring presence our Members count on when they need it most.
Enjoy a rolling 37.5-hour work week, with shifts ranging from 8 to 11.25 hours, scheduled one month in advance. Once you join our 'Shift Pick Pool,' you’ll benefit from a one-year shift lock — offering stability, predictability, and a better work-life balance.

What you'll do:

Respond to Member requests for roadside assistance, including mechanical repairs, battery boosts, tire changes, lockout services, and towing.

Conduct detailed diagnostic assessments to identify vehicle issues and resolve appropriate solutions.

Perform automotive repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring quality workmanship and timely completion.

Assist in all weather conditions, ensuring a positive Member experience throughout the assistance process.

Promote BCAA memberships and general information about affiliate products and services.

Report any issues and take the initiative to resolve them, seeking support as needed.

Uphold BCAA service and safety standards by ensuring BCAA vehicles, equipment, and tools are kept clean, orderly, and in good working condition.

Work rotational 24/7 shift work (including weekdays, evenings, weekends & statutory holidays).
What you bring:

Completed your high school diploma, preferably with your Red Seal Certification.

You have at least 5 years of hands-on automotive repair and diagnostics.

You’re a good driver with a clean BC Driver License Class 5.

You’re confident navigating our cities and towns while driving any size vehicle - including 5-ton trucks, tow trucks, and pickup trucks.

Capable of lifting at least 70lbs during Member service while prioritizing safety throughout the process.

The salary range for this position is $68,510.52to $85,638.12and is determined viajob-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.

About This Opportunity

The Logistics team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by utilizingbest practices to ensure the safe transportation of personnel, donors, equipment, blood products and supplies. Formula for success
- Utilizing your experience with driving and transportation you will ensure that blood and blood products are transported in accordance with safety measures and procedures and are kept at an appropriate temperature. You will also ensure the safety of employees, donors and/or volunteers travelling with you.
- Drawing on your knowledge of safe transportation procedures and your attention to detail, you will conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working order, and accurately complete all required documentation.
- Leveraging your customer service skills, you will assist the collections team by greeting and helping donors book or rebook appointments as required.
- You will assist with setting up systems and Wi-Fi connections for mobile events by utilizing your familiarity with technology and aptitude for learning new programs.
- Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will work with staff to carry and set up/dismantle equipment and supplies. You will also load and unload equipment and supplies at donor centre sites and upon return to centre.
Desired education and skills

Courier Drivers are responsible for daily package deliveries serving our business and residential customers. The daily duties of a courier driver include the following:

Conducting a pre-trip check of the assigned vehicle to ensure safety during deliveries

Lifting, sorting and moving of boxes weighing between 10 to 70lbs.

Unloading and loading packages off and onto vehicles during drop-offs and pick-ups

Operating a DIAD system that helps out in navigating addresses and postal codes.
Qualifications

Excellent Verbal Communications skills;

Customer service and/or driving experience is an asset

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer facing and outside environment

Comfortable working in various weather conditions

Must have a VALID BC CLASS 5 DRIVER’S LICENSE

Ability to lift up parcels weighing between 10lbs up to 70lbs (32kg) unassisted.
