Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of High school diploma
Experience: Candidates should have previous ski resort experience
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work at heights in excess of 20 feet using safety harness and fall protection equipment
- The candidates should have the ability to lift heavy equipment and parts 50 lbs
- The candidates should be prepared and able to stand in a relatively stationary position for extended periods (2-4 hours)
- The candidates should expect adverse weather conditions and be able to work extended hours (10+ hours or day) safely and in all adverse working conditions
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have completed Apprentice level 3, with Apprentice level 4 and possess a valid BC driver’s license and ability to fluently read, write, and speak in English
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform all scheduled maintenance and repairs on assigned lifts to ensure safe, reliable lift transportation and compliance with all applicable rules and regulations
- The candidates should be able to monitor and maintain all assigned lift equipment to ensure safe operations and maximum life, and assist on other lifts
- The candidates should be able to evaluate and, if possible, start stalled lifts to minimize guest discomfort and assist in running lifts on evac drive
- The candidates should be able to follow lift breakdown and evacuation procedures and perform all necessary paperwork to verify work completed
- The candidates should be able to attend trade school for Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) annually and participate in ongoing technical education programs to enhance proficiency in lift maintenance skills
- The candidates should be able to assist in developing and upgrading maintenance procedures and safety standards
- The candidates should be able to handle the general upkeep of assigned shop duty, including inventory control, ordering of stock, and equipment repair
- The candidates should be able to perform care and maintenance of tools, rigging, and other equipment provided for lift maintenance needs, ensuring maximum life and utility
- The candidates should be able to follow safety regulations and handle regulations as outlined in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for regulated substances
- The candidates should be able to maintain and operate snowmobiles, trucks, and ATVs for safe, efficient transportation
