Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 5 years or more
Area of specialization: Engine repair, 4-wheel drive, Electrical and electronic system, Diesel engines, Diagnostics, Alignment, steering and suspension, Brake system, Hydraulic system, Fuel and emission system, Ignition and electrical system, Automatic transmission, Drive train components, Welding, Imported vehicles, Front end components, Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system
Credentials: Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification, Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable working in a dusty, fast-paced environment and be able to stand for extended periods in noisy conditions
- The candidates should possess good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate in their work, known for their dependability, and excel in oral and written communication
- The candidates should be reliable and strong team players

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to inspect the motor in operation, road test motor vehicles, and test automotive systems and components
- The candidates should be able to adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems, estimate parts and labor costs, and perform scheduled maintenance service
- The candidates should be able to advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements, coach and instruct apprentices, and provide customer service
- The candidates should be able to test motor vehicle electrical assemblies, equipment, and wiring for proper performance, repair and maintain equipment, replace parts as required, and remove and replace defective parts
- The candidates should be able to inspect and test engines to diagnose and isolate faults, test, maintain, and store equipment, and diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required
