Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Summer 2024 placement with a start date of May 2024 and end-date of August 2024. In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:
• Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2024; or
• If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April/August 2024), but you require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?
The opportunity is to support the Pricing Team in Terms Investments and Savings area that is responsible for rates management as well as leading the acquisition and retention strategy for the product suite. Our team has a significant impact on the bank’s profitability, market share and client growth results. We work closely with stakeholders across P&CB and the broader organization providing not only strategic direction but also leading execution of annual campaign calendar, performing deep dive analytics (internal and external) as well as managing the Pricing Exception Desk.
For the successful candidate this is a great learning experience to work with a knowledgeable and supportive team that strongly believes in succeeding together. You will not only have an insight into the dynamic world of deposit pricing but also the opportunity to be involved in client centric impact driven deliverables.
What will you do?
- Work on the Pricing Exception Desk to review and approve pricing requests received from the distribution team, advisors and clients.
- Partner with team members in responding to questions/concerns about daily pricing exception requests.
- Perform ongoing reporting on the competitive landscape and assess overall profitability of GIC transactions.
- Participate in regular team meetings to not only learn about various initiatives but provide feedback on how to do things better and more effectively.
- Provide support in adhoc analysis and reporting based on emerging trends/business needs.

- Strong written/oral communication skills to develop and convey thoughtful and insightful explanations.

- Strong MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) skillset.

What is the opportunity? • Maintain a solid knowledge base of how various asset classes are handled by the Front Office systems
• Perform testing of new system update releases
• Provide information to satisfy audit requests from both internal and external auditors
• Develop an understanding of RBC operations and the functions of various business units across the firm and Pro-actively monitor all operational issues pertaining to the trading portfolios assigned
• Develop an advanced understanding of procedures and operational controls as they relate to trading systems and workflows
