The Private Banker will proactively develop, lead, retain and grow full-service relationships with high-net worth clients and prospects. This role is a key part of our commercial banking team reporting directly into the Deputy Manager & Commercial Banking Lead and works collaboratively with CWB Wealth to develop and implement a united client acquisition and management strategy while maintaining adherence to the banks' risk appetite. We are looking for an individual to support the design, development and delivery of solutions that meet the client’s sophisticated personalized needs.
Areas of focus
Relationship Building

Responsible for driving a highly personalized, flawless, “concierge-like” experience for new and existing high net worth business clients through full-service solutions and services.

Responsible for developing and improving/rapidly growing existing client relationships.

Provides proactive advice to high net worth clients and their families and work alongside other advisors (CWB Wealth, Accountants, Lawyers, etc) to build and complete a comprehensive financial plan.

Cultivates an active network of Centre of Influence (COI) to generate referral business.

Lead a client portfolio of over 20MM in assets and lending with CWB Financial Group.
Business Development
-
Creation, initiation, and execution of a high-level Business Development strategy focused on growing Personal Banking solutions to high-net-worth business owner clients and prospects.

Responsible for proactive sourcing and management of new business opportunities including finding opportunities for integration with other CWB (Canadian Western Bank) business divisions, specifically Commercial and Wealth Management.

Ensure regular banking centre activities with the Commercial Relationship Managers, by referrals or joint client meetings, to find opportunities with clients including a comprehensive suite of personal products and services for the principals of the businesses, their families, and their employees.

Proactively solicit and identify deposit and referral opportunities from prospects and clients across Personal, Commercial and Cash Management clients ensuring suitable products for clients and appropriate pricing.

Work closely with the Private Wealth Specialist team to make qualified referrals and jointly meet with clients.

Analyze, prepare, recommend credit requests working with Credit Support, ensuring applications exhibit quality risk assessment and analysis as well as appropriate pricing.

Ensure regular banking centre activities are consistently followed to ensure effective client contact is maintained to build relationships and identify client needs, as well as to probe/listen for new growth opportunities.

Participate in business development activities outside of CWB to generate business and improve CWB’s image with clients, the industry, and the community.

Ensure the safety of the Bank’s funds through accurate loan portfolio management focusing on loan quality, exposure limits, and security requirements.
Core knowledge requirements
Education
-
Diploma/Degree in related field and PFP or commitment to acquire a PFP designation within [36] months is required.
Professional Experience
-
Minimum 5+ years banking experience and a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of retail lending.

Exposure to commercial banking.

Tried experience in business generation activities specific to marketing, sales and relationship management.

Former Private Banking experience.
Relevant “can do” experience

Deep knowledge of all banking products & services for both personal and business clients.
