What you will do:
- Operate the telephone switchboard and receive all incoming calls; determine the nature of calls; answer, ask questions and/or transfer calls to the appropriate person or division
- Act as the first contact on site with visitors
- Direct visitors and/or notify relevant employees
- Provides assistance and administrative support to other departments within the office
- Update branch phone number and address lists
- Perform a wide variety of general office work and assist with data entry as required
- Arranges special deliveries, registered mail and courier services when required
- Maintain records of postage and courier charges and verify courier charges billed to the organization
- Perform other administrative and clerical tasks as required
What you will bring:
- Post-secondary education and at least two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the field, preferably in an office environment or in the industrial distribution sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working on a multi-line telephone switchboard
- Knowledge of general office procedures and general office equipment
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications is required
- Consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment and work efficiently within time constraints
- Highly organized in prioritizing work and managing multiple tasks
