We are searching for a User Experience (UX) Designer to support the delivery of UX design initiatives in collaboration with other designers, the brand and creative services and customer experience teams, and other key business stakeholders. The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Services, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Bringing BC Ferries’ brand to life with creative digital designs and ensure that user experience, design and content on the website, app and intranet align with the overall business strategy, including the brand and customer experience strategies;
  • Developing and prototype design enhancements for e-commerce website, app and other digital assets as required, through data-driven decisions and in alignment with the customer experience strategy;
  • Working with development team on UAT testing and delivery and execution of improvements;
  • Demonstrating prototypes to internal and external stakeholders and perform customer testing;
  • Contributing to creation and maintenance of schedule content on the website (SAP Hybris), app (React Native), and other media as required;
  • Acting as key point of contact for issues and requests relating to online schedules and internal websites, as well as digital signage;
  • Supporting audio and video media preparation, management and distribution through internal and offsite storage and retrieval services;
  • Participating in ideation and vision mapping sessions with key stakeholders;
  • Troubleshooting and recommend fixes for multi-device user interfaces and booking flows;
  • Reviewing customer input, website analytics reports and data to identify and resolve UX pain points;
  • Participating in multi device and multi OS testing of web and app enhancements;
  • Training, coaching and supporting the development of junior designers;
  • Supporting larger design capital projects and other data driven customer experience initiatives;
  • Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures;
  • Working closely with various departments and cross-functional working groups in support of business initiatives;

 

What you bring to the team

CUSTOMER

• Meet or exceed CSO LEI target and be actively involved in ensuring the unit meets or exceeds its' LEI target.

SHAREHOLDER

• Support Relationship Managers/Analysts and Account Managers in credit administrative matters

• Assist in building new relationships and deepening existing customer relationships by consistently following the Business Banking Relationship Methodology

• Act as first point of contact with customers on credit administrative matters such as following for documentation and/or obtaining Financial Statements and Accounts Receivable lists. Responsibilities also include uploading customer reports/documentation into the appropriate systems.

• Actively contribute to sales results by identifying and cross-selling products and services when performing internal duties or interfacing with customers (both new and existing) to maximize revenue/profit and retention of relationships

• Actively refer to other business partners both within Business Banking and across TDBG and respond effectively to reciprocal referrals.

• Facilitate investment requests between customers and Business Banking Investments where required

• Provide effective credit administration for the portfolio both within the Unit and by interfacing with functions across the TDBFG.

• Assist RM/AM with obtaining/compiling all supporting documentation required to complete credit applications and process funding requests. Prepare reminder, follow-up and default letters and follow up on outstanding security documentation.

• Partner with administrative support groups to facilitate activities, such as programming credits, making payments, advancing funds, etc.

• Ensure products and services are sold and operate in a compliant manner minimizing the regulatory compliance and operational risk to the Bank.

• Complete all compliance and attestations within required timelines.

• Be knowledgeable of and comply with Bank and Industry Codes of Conduct

Reporting to the Terminal ManagerTerminal Attendants are responsible for  

  • Directing traffic during loading/unloading procedures, pre-inspecting vehicles to ensure they comply with size restrictions and dangerous cargo regulations; redirecting vehicles to the correct holding lane; and identifying vehicles that may represent a safety hazard on the vessel. 
  • Communicating in person, by phone and by handheld radio with the Tower, Ships Officer, and Terminal Supervisor to ensure the safe and efficient loading and discharge of vessel traffic. 
  • Maintaining the Terminal buildings and the Terminal grounds including emptying trash containers, sweeping the compound; washing down building exteriors and interior and exterior windows; cleaning the washrooms; and dusting and vacuuming building interiors. 
  • Responding to passenger queries; providing route and schedule information; and assisting passengers with problems. 
  • Working on ramps and docks; assisting with vessel docking, handling moo 
  • .ring lines; giving the all clear for vessel departure as required; assisting the vessel in ship-to-shore power hook up; checking for and advising the vessel of any potentially hazardous conditions including dangerous goods, oversize vehicles, and weight restrictions; and working with the loading officer and vessel crew for the safe transit of vehicles between shore to vessel. Additionally, operating a variety of company vehicles, including large trucks, in restricted spaces. 
  • Performing additional duties including stocking the Coffee Shop and general Terminal stores; handling baggage and lost and found items; conducting security rounds; driving the forklift; participating in fire drills and responding to emergency situations; moving furniture; shoveling and salting snow and ice; handling ships lines; and operating rescue boats, garbage compactors, and terminal vehicles.  

 

What you bring to the team 

You are enthusiastic, reliable, and service orientated individual who excels working in a fast passed customer focused environment. You are an excellent communicator and work well in a team environment. In addition, you are comfortable working in a physical environment and working outside in all weather conditions. Please note that terminal operations run 24 hours a day, and applicants will be required to work graveyard shifts as operationally required. 

 

You have one (1) year of customer service experience and possess a Class 5 or 7N Drivers Licence with a clean ICBC Drivers Record Report.  

Preference may be shown to applicants who hold an Occupational First Aid Level 3.

Main Purpose and Function

As a member of the Vancouver Park Board’s communications team, the Communications Coordinator II – Parks & Recreation works on a variety of strategic communications projects and campaigns on behalf of both the Parks and Recreation divisions at the City of Vancouver.

 

The position has a strong focus on media and issues, social media storytelling and public campaigns  focused primarily on park operation initiatives, urban wildlife, nature in the city and major planning initiatives.

 

In addition, the position is responsible for creating and/or supervising the creation of various communications tools to inform the public about key initiatives, their expected impacts and the opportunities for public involvement; liaising with the media on issues and questions related to the key initiatives, and arranging interviews with staff or elected leaders as appropriate; developing, or supervising the development of a wide range of written materials, including social media and advertising campaigns, news releases, backgrounders, presentations, social media campaigns and advertisements.

 

Specific Duties/Responsibilities

  • Coordinates various highly sensitive communications projects of longer duration involving contentious issues and complex strategies.
  • Provides communications advice to client areas in parks and recreation divisions.
  • Develops, coordinates, and, implements communications plans
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of communication and social marketing campaigns and activities in terms of meeting departmental and/or program objectives.
  • Oversees the work of consultants involved with a variety of programs and projects.
  • Researches, writes, produces and executes a wide variety of communications tactics for web, social media, advertising, video and print.
  • Writes project specific content and oversees production of communication materials
  • Assists in arranging news conferences and other special events.
  • Prepares reports, presentations, correspondence and other materials related to the work.
  • Monitor communication project budgets
  • Establishes and maintains liaison with the media, government agencies and stakeholders
  • Other duties/responsibilities as assigned

 

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Education and Experience:

University graduation with a degree in journalism, communications or related discipline, plus considerable related experience on public-facing campaigns focused on behavior change and experience working with and communicating to diverse community groups, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Considerable knowledge of the news and advertising media.
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques relating to professional communications
  • Good working knowledge of local government and how it operates.
  • Considerable knowledge in writing and editing for web, print, social media, video and advertising.
  • Considerable knowledge using web content management systems to deliver on communication goals.
  • Considerable knowledge in developing key messaging and media relations strategies.
  • Considerable knowledge in developing and implementing concepts and themes and to research, write, produce and disseminate a variety of communications materials.
  • Superior level of English language communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective liaison and working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to identify risk to the organization in potentially contentious issues and escalate them to a superior.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain reports, presentations, correspondence and other related materials.
  • Ability to oversee the work of staff (graphic designer, videographer) and consultants engaged in communication work.
