A desire to bring your skill levels in all aspects of facility maintenance and bring a solid building knowledge. This is a facility that you work independently as the FM&E representative.

Description:

As a Maintenance Worker III, you may perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work on patient and hospital equipment and complex mechanical systems to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may utilize your maintenance skills and experience in the performance of preventative and demand maintenance within the exterior and interior of the building. Your duties may include troubleshooting and repairing electronic components on patient and hospital equipment; monitoring, troubleshooting and performing repairs on boilers, HVAC, medical air and vacuum systems and pure water systems. In addition, you may be required to coordinate and assign work to other Maintenance Worker staff in order to meet operational requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of post-secondary education in a related field and/or 1 year specialized/technical training in a related field OR 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate as per ABSA kW rating guidelines or AHS standards where boiler support is necessary. Possession of a valid driver's licence.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must have minimum 3 years maintenance worker experience in a hospital or institutional setting. Must be dependable and reliable. Must have strong qualities to work independently as well in a team clinical and secured environment. Have strong knowledge base of Hydronic Heating systems, Building Automation Systems, (Convergent) Building electrical and fire alarm systems, a good understanding of ABC/CSA requirements, along with Minor Plumbing and HVAC experience. Experience with computer maintenance work platform knowledge. Good clear communications. Must be able to read and write English. Comfortable working in a highly secure facility. Available and be available for some after hours, call backs and overtime. A willingness to try new work demands that maybe outside normal work days.
