We are currently seeking a “Voice Systems Engineer” to join our team at the North York head office.
What you 'll do:

Provide technical solutions to Comwave business requirements, working with executives, vendors, and internal development teams. Provide technical assistance for server administration, upgrades, maintenance, facilitate backups and support.

Interface with Product and Project Management teams to break down product requirements into technical tasks and set corresponding project/task deadlines.

Interface with Development teams towards automation of service delivery to customers for technical projects.

Provide Tier III Technical Support for Technical Services and Network & Service Operations teams in diagnosing complex issues ranging from individual clients to network-wide contexts.

Ensure the 24/7 system/network uptime as part of being accessible to on-call staff/management in cases of emergency/disaster response as a subject matter expert.

Work closely with the systems and network administrations teams on hand-off for service delivery projects in functions including (but not limited to) system deployment, configuration, monitoring, and operational documentation.

Work closely with commercial vendors escalating service-related issues/questions.

Provide ongoing training/hand-off for alert handling procedures to Network and System Operations teams.

Responsible for providing root cause analysis for all system/network-wide events that affect service/server uptime.
What you bring:
-
Experience working with large enterprise or service provider in a multi-site environment leveraging equipment including Metaswitch & AudioCodes media gateways, Genband/Ribbon S3 SBCs, and SS7 STP’s.

Experience in diagnosing network performance issues and working with Network Monitoring systems, Wireshark, and other voice troubleshooting/performance benchmarking techniques.

Knowledge in the design, operation, and optimization of SBC's and SoftSwitch equipment.

Expert knowledge of SIP, MEGACO, etc.

Knowledge of SS7, ISDN, T.38, SIGTRAN, MGCP, MEGACO, etc.

Documenting and voice topology visualization at all levels.

Able to work in a very fast-paced environment and provide significant contributions both individually and as part of a greater team.

Able to quickly learn and implement new technologies and network practices in a constantly evolving service provider infrastructure.

Experience with Broadworks and MetaSwitch is an asset but not a requirement.
