Welder Full-time Job

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language

Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Area of specialization: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), and gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine, and gas welding machine
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Location: 366 Watline Avenue, Mississauga, ON L4Z 1X2
Shifts: Day, Evening, Morning
Work setting: In shop

• The candidates should be prepared for a dusty environment
• The candidates should be able to work in hot conditions
• The candidates should be aware that the work site may be noisy
• The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• The candidates should be prepared for repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be physically capable of meeting the demands of the job
• The candidates should possess hand-eye coordination
• The candidates should be comfortable with sitting for extended periods
• The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes
• The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment and operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
• The candidates should be able to examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications and operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines
• The candidates should be able to fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal and operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
• The candidates should be able to determine the weldability of materials
