PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

In this challenging role you will be member of a team working in a high production environment performing preventative and corrective maintenance to a diverse fleet of heavy equipment

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Install and maintain standby diesel generators and switch gear
• Install and maintain industrial components including dampers, gates, fans, bearings, motors, pumps, manlifts, other machinery
• Operate and maintain gas testing equipment and participate in the issuance of Confined Space Entry Permits
• Provide isolation, lockouts, clearances and safe work permits on Utilities systems and process equipment
• Assist in the development of energy control procedures and safe work practices
• Assist in maintenance plaining and repair of equipment
• Operate in accordance with all applicable procedures, policies and regulations
• The job  is within a heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the facility. Depending on the area you work in, the environmental conditions may be hot, cold, dirty, dusty, wet or noisy
• Safety is our highest priority, and safety procedures and guidelines must be adhered to at all times. This includes wearing personal protective equipment, such as a hard hats, eye protection, hearing protection, respirators, and safety boots at all times during a work shift
• Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team environment

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Possess provincial certification as a Heavy Duty Mechanic, Diesel Repair Technician, or Millwright
• Be comfortable working on structures at height and be conversant with proper fall protection procedures
• Reading electrical schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams is a requirement
• Be proficient with the safe use of common hand and power tools
• Ability to obtain and hold a CROR D Rules Card (course provided by CPKC)
• Must be able effectively complete all assigned duties unsupervised
• On – call every second week per Union Wage Agreement

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

CPKC is hiring fulltime Equipment Operators in order to facilitate the safe and efficient loading of domestic and international containers at the Intermodal facility in Lachine, Quebec.

Starting position includes operation of various intermodal equipment (shunt trucks etc.) at the rate of $29.661 and offers near term progression to other positions within the facility, example Utility Ground at the rate of $30.985 and Heavy Equipment Operator at the rate of $34.959.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Operation of various terminal equipment including shunt trucks, light duty pickup trucks, fuel trucks, trailers, chassis, forklift, sweeper truck, etc
• Hostling containers/chassis within terminal to support train loading operations
• General duties, as required, including pre-tripping of perishable intermodal containers, building electric reefer container sets on railcars, plug in reefers on ground and monitor performance
• Perform visual inspection and report on damages and defects of intermodal equipment
• Prepare railcars for proper loading of different-size containers by placement of pedestals and spacers
• Assist in securement of containers once loaded to railcar (walking on railcar platforms, locking/unlocking IBC’s)
• Update system as required once work is completed
• Other miscellaneous duties as/when required
• This is a safety-sensitive position within an environment of heavy equipment and constant flow of traffic

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Applicant must have High School or equivalent
• Possess advanced reading and writing skills, including the ability to follow advanced written instruction and/or training in skills such as driving
• Be in possession of a valid driver licenses

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

Under limited guidance the Software Developer II (IS) will be responsible for analyzing, developing, testing, implementing and documenting software solutions/applications that will contribute to CP's ability to achieve it's organizational goals.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Executes ITIL procedures in the area of Problem Management; Change Management and Incident Management with minimal supervision
• Utilize their technology background to help meet departmental service level objectives while demonstrating proficiency in providing user support by responding to customer calls and correspondence to ensure customers are well satisfied.
• Use established analytical skills, assists in troubleshooting and examining systems to identify technical issues and guide to root cause.
• Demonstrate ability to document results of analysis completed using various methods, for example; flowchart; business process designs; system documentation and technical specifications
• Develop, test, document and deliver requested functionality or changes/enhancements to new or existing applications as per agreed upon business requirements and specifications
• Demonstrates established analysis and critical thinking skills in isolating and debugging software problems, able to analyze impacts of change or impact within their given area of expertise
• Improves current operating systems by studying practices, procedures, and problems; identifying problems, designing modifications and improvements
• Learn how to incorporate operational efficiency and safety to software solutions and business applications
• Participate in 24*7 rotational on call support

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's Degree Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience working on Red Hat Linux OS
• 3+ years  of experience with one or more programming languages/technologies such as Java, Python, .NET, C, C++, C#, Ruby, Bash Scripts
• 1 + years of experience collaborating with peers, superiors and members of cross functional teams
• Knowledge of messaging/message oriented middleware system is an asset
• Knowledge on one or more version control system like Git is an asset
• Knowledge of Elastic Search Platform is an asset
• Knowledge of one or more relational and no SQL databases and query languages is an asset

Management Conductor Program:
