Job Description

• The candidate must drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.

• The candidate will be responsible for recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• The candidate will be responsible for tarping and ensuring cargo safety and security.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Training will be provided to the selected candidate.
• The candidate must have an AZ class license and Air Brake Endorsement.
• The candidate must be able to lift more than 45 kg (100 lbs).
• The candidate should have good judgemental skills.

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to load and unload goods, obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes, operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Minimum 1 year accident free AZ licensed driving experience.

• Must provide recent CVOR and clean drivers abstract.

• Ability to drive Manual Transmissions is strongly preferred.

• Able to operate 53-foot quad axle trailers. 

• Experience with B Trains is an asset. 

• Capable of operating 13 speed Manual Transmission and capable of maintain legal driver’s Electronic Log (Geotab).

• Familiar with Ontario geography. 

• Experience with heavy haul applications and material handling equipment and excellent customer service skills.

Piece Work: Paid for what you do:
- The KM
- Hook/Unhook Trailer (Drop)
- Deliveries
- Additional $1.28/Hr for Every Hour Worked based on the KPI.
- Delay Time at Hourly Rate

SHIFT: Work weeks – Mon-Fri / Sun-Thu / Tue-Sat / Wed-Sun
As a new employee, you will start on afternoons (Start time between 2PM-4PM) for at least 6 months.

Job qualifications:

• Engage in physical activities and manual labor as requested, including but not limited to : prolonged standing, walking, lifting pushing, twisting, pulling and bending.
• Lift object up to 80 lbs.
• Climb a ladder/stairs.
• Work on slippery floor.
• Lift object higher than the shoulders.

• Ability to wear all PPE as required: including safety shoes, glasses, bump cap, hearing protection (jewelry must be taken off)

This individual is responsible for the operational execution of product movements from the point of supply to the delivery to the customer. This individual will interact with supply chain partners (e.g. product suppliers, carriers) on a transactional basis to coordinate the movement of product as per the parameters defined in the contract of sale.  This individual acts as the key contact with the customers/ overseas offices, shipping lines, truckers, freight forwarders and other logistics partners servicing the International markets.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

• Processes shipments through an order management system
• Plan transportation in sap and issues loading instructions to the carrier(s) and supplier(s)
• Prepares or compiles documentation required for the shipment and ownership transfer of product
• Negotiate documents with banks for letter or credit payment term
  Invoices and forwards documents to the customer as per the contract of sale
• Secures payment through Letters of Credit
• Monitors the shipments in transit and trouble-shoots for any logistical issues to ensure that customer service levels are not impacted
• Acts as a liaison with the customer for all post sale communications
• Cost freight on timely manner
• Approves, tracks and ensures payment of freight and storage invoices
• Compute reporting metrics, such as on-time delivery rates, order fulfillment, prepare reports on logistics performance measures.
• Maintain databases of logistics information.
• Accurate and timely delivery of products in the most cost-effective manner
• Timely and accurate administration of documentation
• Reduction of incremental storage, demurrage and freight costs related to any service issues

What You’ll Bring:

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in international logistics or equivalent work experience required
• 5-7 years’ experience in logistics operations or related field required
• Good computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and an aptitude to learn   new software when required
• Fluent in English
• Bilingual is an asset such as Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese
• Letters of Credit, applications, rules and practices
• Outstanding ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and to work in an extremely fast- paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Listening, Written and Verbal)
• Extremely well organized and detail-oriented
• Ability to take initiative and independently prioritize own work
• Strong problem-solving skills
