The Package Delivery Driver position is a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position that involves continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs. Package Delivery Drivers must have excellent customer contact and driving skills. Qualified applicants must have a valid driver’s G or higher license issued in the state of Ontario. Package Delivery Drivers are expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided vest/uniform.

Workdays: Tuesday to Saturday 

Shift Start: Tuesday to Friday 9:30AM Start Time(Flexibility required) and Saturday 9AM Start Time (Flexibility Required)

Shift Duration: 8-10 hours per day

 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Deliver and pick-up packages in an efficient and effective manner
  • Follow and execute company-established safe/defensive driving methods
  • Assist with loading/unloading the trucks as required
  • Record, track and maintain information about delivered packages

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32kg)
  • Ability to read and navigate with maps/map books
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s License

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Valid G class driver’s license issued in the province of Ontario
  • Clean driver’s abstract showing: 
    • No accidents and maximum 5 demerit points for the previous 3 year period (last 36 months)
    • No violations for the current year (last 12 months) and no more than 2 violations for the previous 3 year period (last 36 months)
  • On the job driver training provided!
  • Able to work in an outdoor, time sensitive environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 70lbs.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make decisions
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to read a map
  • Adhere to UPS appearance guidelines

Shift:

  • Tuesday to Saturday
  • Shift start time 09:00 AM (approx.)
  • Shifts are generally 8-10 hours per day but may extend longer during high volume and peak holiday season.  Shift start and finish time can vary.
  • Union environment - as you attain and continue to gain seniority you will eventually have your own route

Responsibilities

  • Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with the primary contacts at each account, acting as a PepsiCo ambassador.  
  • Providing accuratetimely product deliveries and unloading product as directed by the customer 
  • Processing invoices and handling daily settlement of accounts 
  • Stocking and rotating product in various environments, merchandising to standard at all accounts 
  • Building displays and setting up promotional materials such as pricing signs and banners 
  • Accurately completing all necessary paperwork 
  • Performing all assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner, while in compliance with all laws and transportation regulations 

Physical demands and working conditions:

  • You can lift/carry large loads up to 50 lbs repetitively throughout an 8-10 hour day 
  • You can maneuver large loads by hand and with use of various aides, requiring a wide range of physical agility, flexibility, and strength 
  • You will be exposed to a variety of weather and temperature ranges, and you will safely operate the equipment during poor road and driving conditions 

Qualifications

  • You have excellent people skills and know how to work with customers 
  • You have a High School Diploma, Professional Studies Diploma or Equivalence
