The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for overseeing a team of Technicians in the delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services for assigned facilities.  The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the execution of activities performed by Technicians to ensure that work is performed in accordance to established processes and practices and is in compliant with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.  In addition to people leadership responsibilities, the Maintenance Team Lead also performs and delivers preventative and corrective maintenance as well as routine and on-demand services.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Safety and Regulatory Ownership:

• Assigns, prioritizes and monitors work progress in partnership with the BGIS CMMS Team.  
• Monitors execution of activities and performance to ensure timely completion and adherence to all requirements including but not limited to operating procedures and practices, quality, performance and contract response requirements. 
• In partnership with the Central Work Order Management Team Manage work orders efficiently, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance. 
• Ensure accurate documentation of work performed and maintain detailed records. 

Financial Ownership (Including Quotes Management): 

• Oversees and maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required.  Submits all expenditures on a timely basis    
• In collaboration with BGIS FM and Regional Directors, Manage maintenance budgets and expenses effectively. 
• Prepare and review quotes for maintenance projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness. 

Vendor Management: 

• Collaborate with vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services. 
• With support of the BGIS Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Management Evaluate vendor performance when required.

• 5 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience

Under the supervision of the Captain, the Deckhand is required to perform duties of a varied nature on a vessel which include:

Responsibilities

To achieve the Maintenance department and customer operations goals and ensure ongoing equipment (system) reliability through preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, troubleshooting/analysis and equipment upgrades.

• Ability to stand for long periods with occasional laying, stooping, and crouching plus frequent heavy lifting (up to 50 lb)

• Fabrication experience and ability to weld in all positions.

• Demonstrated skills/experience with pneumatics, hydraulics.

• Demonstrated machinery/repair/overhaul & troubleshooting skills with material handling equipment (e.g., conveyors, sorters, AGVs, etc.)

• Demonstrated equipment troubleshooting skills.

• Machine shop experience, rigging experience and 5S experience.

Assets

• Certificate of Apprenticeship (Ontario or Canadian equivalent)

• Experience with automated conveyor systems, Beumer Sorter systems,   Tire Gantry,  and Rite Hite Dock door System

• Health & Safety experience (e.g., safety committee experience)

• Strong skills using MS Office (Excel, Word) or AutoCAD

• Ability to teach/mentor inexperienced trades or apprentices.

• Maximo CMMS experience

The Opportunity:

The Electrician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
Working closely with other team members, this role will have direct accountability for troubleshooting, repairing, installing electrical/mechanical services and equipment in the plant while also being responsible for ensuring that daily preventative maintenance tasks and repairs are carried out accordingly to meet production needs.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

• Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair of:
  • Electrical equipment (AC Drives, power controls circuits, starters, motors, MCC's)
  • Microprocessor based systems (PLC's. DCS, Electronic circuits, controls)
  • Low and medium voltage distribution systems (single & three phase systems)
  • Instrumentation (pneumatic controls, PID, transducers, servos, analog/digital signals)
  • Power distribution & generation (generators, transformers, switchgears, breakers)
  • Communication and Data Systems (closed circuit TV, timekeeping, phone/computer)
  • HVAC, Emergency systems (refrigeration, energy control, alarm), hydraulic systems
• Conduct Planned Preventive & Predictive Maintenance and keep maintenance records
• Recommend and implement corrective action and required repairs
• Assist in planning, organizing of work activities (drawing interpretation, blue prints and schematics, parts preparation)
• Install new conduits, lighting fixtures, wiring, receptacles and other electrical components, examining or replace the old fixtures
• Check continuity, resistance, current or voltage of circuit for troubleshooting
