Patrol Officers Full-time Job

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as grade 12 graduation or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) for Grade 12 or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be in excellent physical condition

Other Requirements:

• • The candidates should be 18 years of age or older

• The candidates should be Canadian citizens, landed immigrants, or have permanent residency

• The candidates should have a valid driver’s license (unrestricted for a minimum of one year) and a good driving record
• The candidates should have good moral character. Recent drug use and/or other criminal activity, either detected or undetected by the police, will result in a deferral. No criminal convictions for which a Pardon has not been granted (copy of Pardon required). No criminal charges pending before the Courts
• The candidates should have a proven history of volunteerism, community, and cultural involvement
• The candidates should have an exemplary employment record
• The candidates should have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, as well as computer skills
• The candidates should be in excellent health with no medical conditions that would prohibit their ability to safely complete recruit training and perform all aspects of police work
• The candidates should have a minimum acceptable acuity of 20/60 in each eye or 20/40 in one eye and 20/100 in the other. This acuity is without any corrective lenses. (During the recruitment process, you will be contacted by a recruiter to book both a vision and a hearing test)
• The candidates with colour deficiency may be excluded from the competition
• The candidates whose visual acuity has been corrected by eye surgery will not be considered until six months after the date of surgery for Lasik and six months after the date of surgery for PRK
