Job Details
Under supervision of the Printing and Mailroom Supervisor, this position operates production printing equipment, and processes incoming and outgoing mail andamp; packages within a centralized mail service.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receives, sorts and delivers mail & packages for civic departments, Saskatoon Police Service, and Boards on a scheduled basis, including sorting and expediting mail to and from Canada Post Corporation.
  • Maintains record of incoming and outgoing registered mail and courier material, including completing related delivery documentation.
  • Requisitions and maintains sufficient postage in postage machine and prepaid postage account at Canada Post Corporation.
  • Records, reconciles and processes postage charges for civic departments, Saskatoon Police Service and Boards.
  • Prepares, configures, and operates envelope inserter to operate efficiently while monitoring the quality of product.
  • Receives and reviews printing requests and communicates with customers to collect additional information required to complete printing job to customer’s expectations.
  • Evaluates problems that occur in the printing process (customer or internal issues) and makes necessary adjustments to ensure product quality.
  • Preforms necessary maintenance, cleaning, and calibrations of all print & mailroom equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Communicates with print and mail equipment manufacturers to address equipment performance concerns.
  • Orders and maintains an inventory of printing & mailroom supplies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training And Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 education.

  • One year’s related experience.

 

Knowledge, Abilities And Skills

  • Knowledge of high speed printing and mailing practices, procedures and equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate production printers, folder inserter, high speed postage meter and other print shop and mailing equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and deal effectively and courteously with staff, customers, vendors and external agencies.

  • Ability to physical perform the assigned duties of the position which includes working with noisy equipment, standing for extended periods and lifting up to 30 kilograms throughout the day

  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in completing assigned tasks.

  • Proficient in Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel,)are essential) & Microsoft PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe (Illustrator ,Photoshop) would be an asset

Qualifications

  • 10+ years' progressively responsible experience in human resources related to a HR Business Partner
  • Seasoned HR professional who can demonstrate relationship management breadth and influence in leading, planning and executing complex/strategic initiatives

Formula for success

  • Utilizing your experience with driving and transportation you will ensure that blood and blood products are transported in accordance with safety measures and procedures and are kept at an appropriate temperature. You will also ensure the safety of employees, donors and/or volunteers travelling with you. 
  • Drawing on your knowledge of safe transportation procedures and your attention to detail, you will conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working order, and accurately complete all required documentation. 
  • Leveraging your customer service skills, you will assist the collections team by greeting and helping donors book or rebook appointments as required. 
  • You will assist with setting up systems and Wi-Fi connections for mobile events by utilizing your familiarity with technology and aptitude for learning new programs.  
  • Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will work with staff to carry and set up/dismantle equipment and supplies. You will also load and unload equipment and supplies at donor centre sites and upon return to centre.

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Must possess a valid Saskatchewan Class 4 drivers license or 1-3 with knowledge test and a clean commercial drivers abstract from within the last 30 days. 
  • Minimum 24 months verifiable professional driving experience as a commercial vehicle driver, within the last 3 years. 
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs. 
  • A willingness to learn procedures in a regulatory environment. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English. A second language is considered an asset.

Qualifications

Education, Training & Experience Requirements

  • Grade 10 education
  • Possession of the following valid qualifications:
    • Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Certification (Pool Option), 
    • CPR Level C
    • Red Cross Standard First Aid or Aquatic Emergency Care Award; and
    • Lifesaving Instructor Certification is considered an asset.
    • Six month's related experience instructing and as a lifeguard preferred. 

 

Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills

  • Knowledge of current lifeguard techniques, including first aid and emergency procedures, and instructional techniques, methods, and practices. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, peers, supervisor, and the public. 
  • ability to demonstrate skills and techniques required and maintain fitness level necessary.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with supervisor, staff, and the public. 
  • Ability to apply theory to practical learning situations. 
  • Ability to evaluate and adjust lesson plans to meet the participant needs.
  • Ability to work the assigned, designated participant group.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and provide direction during emergency situations

 

Requires Security Check

Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) upon offer of employment.

Hours of work will vary based on availability and operational needs.

Weekly Hours: Part Time 

Salary Range: $21.07 to $23.22 CAD per hour (2023 rates. Negotiated increases of 3% for 2024, and 2.5% for 2025 will apply when applicable.)

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports and assists Committee Assistants with various City Council, committee and quasi-judicial processes as directed.

Qualifications

Desired education and skills:
