Job Summary

This position is a temporary and seasonal part-time role requiring use of one's personal vehicle to deliver packages primarily in residential areas. They will perform in a physical, fast-paced, outdoor position involving continual lifting, lowering, and carrying packages.

Responsibilities:

• Retrieves, loads packages into personal vehicle, and delivers packages to customers.

Workdays: Monday - Friday

Shift Duration:4-5 hours per day *(Flexibility is required with both the start and finish times)

• Shift Schedule Start Time: 10 AM

Pay rate: $17.30/hr.

Mileage : 0.70 cents per km.

Qualifications:

Owner Operator Truck Driver – Long Distance

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a minimum of two year verifiable experience with articulated equipment
• Equipment must not be more than 4 years old.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and to enter the United States
• Must possess a valid class AZ driver’s license that has not been suspended or revoked in the past 36 months
• Can read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand the highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.

As part of Maple Leaf Food’s Speedvale team, the Logistics Manager will be responsible for material shipping and warehouse activities at both Speedvale facilities. This role will be responsible for shipping, transportation, and warehousing related activities in at our Production Facility and the warehouse next door.  This position would report to the Plant Manager and be part of the Senior Leadership Team.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

• Manage /oversee staffing who are responsible for all the shipping activity for outbound finished goods.  warehouse activities, communicates and documents transactions, including vendor damage claims
• Manage/oversee the team that handles the outbound material movement to meet supply chain requirements including inventory accuracy, minimizing write-offs, and new product introductions
• Supervise dry good and finished good warehouse operators
• Manages the warehouse to meet housekeeping standards, including inventory control and management
• Responsible for ensuring all shipments meet quality requirements including completion of all related paperwork
• Provides innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives to upgrade the department
• Maintain managed warehouse bin management, inventory control, and allergen management.
• Communicates effectively with transport dispatch, other plants, and third-party providers
• Act as single point of contact for employee issues and concerns and providing follow-up in a timely manner
• Conduct incident investigations, counseling, and discipline meetings

The Role:
Maple Leaf Foods at 643 Speedvale Ave. W., in Guelph is accepting applications for an Shipper/Receiver within our Prepared Meats Plant which specializes in Lunches, Snacking, & Charcuterie products. Duties may include:

• Pre-operational inspections, operation, and shutdown of all related equipment for efficient and safe operation (i.e., Forklifts, Counterbalance, Motorized walkie, Pump cart, Scanners)
• Thorough, accurate, and neat completion of forms form.
• Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures for product components and packaging materials (i.e.; FIFO procedures)
• Load and receive trailers (live load from the line) and inventory counting
• Employees will be required to complete aptitude testing (reading comprehension, written communications, numeracy)
• Other duties as assigned

Hours of Work:

• Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday overtime.
