Job Description:

Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician’s responsibilities will include:

Orders and tracks parts and deliveries for all the Capexes and equipment we have

Runs PM system ready for customer or ISO audits

Runs Maintenance software  

Takes repair calls from office or other service calls, like broken door, cracked concrete patch etc. 

Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine breakdown issues and/or to order necessary parts.

Conduct and perform planned preventive & predictive maintenance and keep maintenance records.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

You will assist with the planning, scheduling and assignment of manpower to specific jobs within the Freight Car Repair and Freight Car Inspection, ensuring that all repairs and/or servicing are performed in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Company, AAR and TC regulations.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Conduct job briefings, end of shift briefings, safety meetings and activities, ensuring that safety rules, procedures and policies are adhered to thorough proficiency testing and safety tracking document
• Correct and document safety incidents, safety hazards/concerns, investigates for corrective actions to the various departments, involving the Health and Safety Committee in the prescribed timelines
• Support, communicate and deliver to key performance indicators.  Leads to ensure all direct reports have an understanding of the business objectives, as well as the role they are all accountable for

The Maintenance Engineer role is based in Picton, ON and reports directly to the Maintenance

Manager. The Maintenance Engineer will work closely with other Maintenance Supervisors,

Maintenance Planners and a Reliability Engineer among others.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager/Planning Manager, the Planner is the “quarterback” of the Maintenance department and plays a key role in managing and coordinating Work Management activities. The Planner develops comprehensive maintenance job plans that facilitate the safe and effective execution of work. Develops timely schedules of the comprehensive job plans, ensuring the maximum use of maintenance manpower, availability of parts and minimized interruption to Production. The Planner must understand the concept of ’Doing the right work at the right time for the right reasons.’ The Planner is experienced and trained in planning and scheduling techniques, is a capable CMMS system and MS Office User and familiar with applying Standard Operating Procedures in his/her work. The Planner follows company policies, standards and guidelines as they apply to all activities.

The Planner is an experienced Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Specialist with at least 5 years of experience in applying proven Maintenance best practices in an industrial environment.  A journeyman's ticket, PMP and/or related technical diploma are preferred.
