DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist activities carried out by the shop group;

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Traffic Field Operations manufactures, installs and maintains all traffic control signs and pavement markings, and provides temporary traffic control for emergencies, construction and special events on City-wide road right of way. 

Reporting to the Maintenance Crew Leader, Traffic Field Operations, the Maintenance Repair Worker is responsible for the safe and efficient manufacturing and maintenance of traffic control material, equipment, facilities and yards for Traffic Field Operations. This position ensures that operational standards, procedures and requirements are met during the manufacturing and maintenance of permanent and temporary traffic control. The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of Technicians in the delivery of preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services for assigned facilities.  The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the execution of activities performed by Technicians to ensure that work is performed in accordance to established processes and practices and is in compliant with all internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.  In addition to people leadership responsibilities, the Maintenance Team Leader also performs and delivers preventative and corrective maintenance as well as routine and on-demand services.

A Labourer II in Infrastructure Maintenance is a semi-skilled manual labour position. Tasks of this nature involve the use of some acquired skills. Duties include the ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools including small mixers and hand trowels. • Knowledge of the daily maintenance required on the equipment
• Knowledge of the PARS Operating Procedures 
• Emergency First Aid Certificate
• Physically capable of performing the duties assigned to the position class
• Exemplary customer service skills
• Ability to work and make decisions in an independent manner
• Adaptable to changing priorities, whether because of managerial direction or weather dependency
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
