We are currently hiring a Service Advisor based in our Burnaby SOLO location. 

 

As a Service Advisor, you’ll be one of the first people our customers meet when they’re seeking advice to protect their homes, travel the world, and ensure they’re safe on BC’s roads. You’ll meet their needs by recommending memberships or travel and auto insurance.

During a typical day, you will:  

  • Greet our customers in person and over the phone to promote BCAA insurance products and services to best fit their lives, including new memberships, travel insurance, ICBC and optional auto insurance.  

  • Collaborate with BCAA Support Teams and Underwriting to recommend the right coverage for our customers 

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities to support our customers’ life events and future needs. 

  • Work together with team members to provide exceptional customer service and meet sales goals 

  • Increase your industry knowledge and expertise towards becoming an Insurance Advisor. You’ll participate in BCAA’s training courses, maintain your annual licensing requirements, and keep up to date with the latest products and service offerings in a supportive environment.  

 

What you bring 

  • At least two years’ experience in asales andservice environment 

  • Level 1Insurance license (or a commitment to secure your license within your first 45 days through BCAA). BCAA will provide time and cover the cost.  

  • Completion ofAutoplanEssentials (or a commitment to complete within your first three months through BCAA.) BCAA will provide time and cover the cost.   

  • Limited history of Errors & Omissions and in good standing with the Insurance Council of BC. 

  • Comfortable using technology, including working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 

  • Bonus qualifications! CAIB certification, knowledge of ICBC systems, and ability to speak other languages aside from English. 

 

 

The salary range for this position is $42,516.72to $53,145.96and is determined viajob-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 21.5%

What you bring: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline with a focus on quantitative methods. 

  • 3–5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Reporting, Analytics, Strategy, or Operations. 

  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and report building. 

  • Proficiency in Power BI, with the ability to build and edit dashboards. 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including queries and pivot tables. 

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. 

  • Superior written and verbal communication abilities for presenting complex data clearly.

You’ll interpret complex business questions, extract and analyze data, and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations and business cases that influence decision making across the Evo business.

 

You’ll leverage your expertise in data analysis, reporting, and strategic planning to uncover insights, monitor performance, and support expansion opportunities. Your work will directly support Evo’s operations, growth strategies, and executive-level decision-making.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintain, and continuously improve forecasting, tracking, and scenario models for all areas of Evo Car Share (operations, marketing/sales, consumer success, etc.)

  • Design and maintain management reporting tools and dashboards (primarily in Excel and Power BI) aligned to business strategy and KPIs

  • Extract, explore, and analyze data using SQL and other tools, working with both internal databases and external vendor data

  • Identify data gaps, quality issues, and limitations that may impact analysis, and proactively recommend improvements to data processes and controls

  • Develop test scenarios, hypotheses, and models to evaluate growth strategies, expansion opportunities, and proposed courses of action

  • Translate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations that teams can implement immediately

  • Visualize and communicate complex data through compelling presentation decks, business cases, reports and strategic storytelling tailored to non-technical audiences

  • Collaborate closely with teams across Evo, including Marketing, FP&A, Accounting, Information Systems, and external partners

  • Research industry, government, and market data to inform analysis, competitive insights, and strategic direction

  • Become a subject-matter expert in the car share and mobility space, identifying performance challenges, opportunities, and future growth areas

  • Proactively recommend new tools, processes, and reporting enhancements to improve the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of insights

 

What you bring: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline with a focus on quantitative methods. 

  • 3–5 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Reporting, Analytics, Strategy, or Operations. 

  • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and report building. 

  • Proficiency in Power BI, with the ability to build and edit dashboards.

Strategic Planning and Corporate performance - We coordinate, communicate, and execute the strategic plan and supporting plans and initiatives and report on our performance to those plans.Financial Analysis - Financial analysis includes financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis services to internal and external clients. Enterprise Risk Management - We ensure the corporation manages its key business risks and opportunities. We also ensure business continuity plans are in place so the corporation can provide service during irregular operational times, and we coordinate incident and crisis response.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develops a comprehensive business planning program in alignment with strategic priorities and their associated deliverables and translates those priorities into key actions and measures that move the corporation forward in achieving its strategic plans.
  • Guides and supports the alignment of an integrated business planning culture across the corporation.
  • Manages and advises the provision of assistance and consultation to executive, management and staff in planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance management, and business case development.
  • Ensures the preparation of strategic plans, business plans, program business cases, performance measures and targets, budgets, monthly and quarterly performance and financial analysis.
  • Works with executive, management, and staff to develop and maintain deliverables, including data analysis, business cases, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, business and financial models, budgets and forecasts, alternative analysis modeling, work planning, allocation of funds, and enable the identification of individual contributions toward corporate goals.
  • Assists with business continuity plans for validation and quality assurance purposes, and integration into enterprise-wide plans.
  • Assists with business continuity and disaster recovery exercises to verify critical system restoration and validate recovery procedures.
  • Ensures effective communication and develops content for a wide range of documents and reports for presentation to executive, management, staff, and other key stakeholders.
  • Leads the preparation of executive and board briefing materials for budgets, forecasting, performance, and business cases.
  • Ensures that managers receive financial and performance reports monthly and quarterly.
  • Supervises staff including assignment of work, development and evaluation of performance plans, approval of leave, and responds to potential disciplinary processes.
  • Undertakes or oversees a variety of corporate initiatives relating to planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance management.

Qualifications

Must have

  • Degree in related discipline, such as Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in corporate planning, performance measurement, budgeting and financial management.  
  • Experience developing business plans, key performance measures, and presenting on performance. 
  • Experience preparing and presenting materials for delivery to an executive and management-level audience.
  • Experience analyzing data and generating reports to enable structured decision-making.
  • Experience in leading, coaching, providing support and/or mentoring.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience may be considered.

Nice to have:

  • Master’s degree in business administration or equivalent graduate program is preferred.
  • Experience using Oracle Fusion is preferred.
  • Experience supervising staff, including developing performance plans, conducting regular check-ins and setting priorities is preferred.

Job Details

Reporting to the assigned supervisor, the DAS Administrative Coordinator is responsible for providing a variety of program and project administration and administrative services to the assigned team within the Development and Asset Strategies Branch. He/she/they are required to perform the majority or all the following functions dependent to support assigned teams. The position works on programs and projects delivered by the Branch that are complex, multi-dimensional, and involve numerous stakeholders, requiring considerable judgment, and initiative on the part of the incumbents to effectively coordinate all administrative aspects of assigned projects to successful conclusion. The role ensures effective project administration and development, relationship management with project partners, and works with the team to help ensure the expedited project timelines can be met.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of a post-secondary diploma in business or program administration or other relevant discipline, including courses related to contract and accounting administration.
  • Sound experience in a relevant subject area and in a comparable environment such as the housing, construction, or development industry.
  • Sound experience with front-of-office experience with a development firm is required for certain positions.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable to the employer

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  • Sound practical knowledge of program/project, accounting, and contract administration, including invitational and public procurement, and tendering practices
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of accounting processes
  • Sound practical knowledge of and proficiency in standard word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and other relevant applications including MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Some knowledge of construction processes, cash flow, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Ability to read and review tender documents, change orders, and other contract documentation
  • Ability to work independently as well as function effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while responding to numerous diverse and shifting challenges without compromising the quality of the work
  • Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and good judgment when dealing with a broad range of audiences
  • Ability to find and implement creative and practical solutions to problems
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong initiative, follow-through skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
