About The Role
We are currently looking for friendly, outgoing, and customer service-driven individuals to join our team as Part-Time Store Associates at our Ace Liquor Royal Oak location in Calgary, AB
Purpose of Job
Provide exemplary customer service to every person who walks into our store, understand customer needs and instil a customer mindset within the store, participate in stocking and merchandising of the store; ensuring the store is stocked and ready to serve our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
People Skills
- Customer service is driven, friendly, willing to talk to all customers
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Maintain a professional appearance, demeanour, and attitude at all times
Customer Offering
- Deliver exemplary customer service
- Greet customers when they enter the store and take customers to product when required
- Generate sales by educating, advising, and suggesting products to every customer
- Maintain a high level of service and product knowledge by completing all training within the required timeline
- Escort customers from the store and/or offer car service when appropriate
Financial
- Complete customer transactions on the Point-of-Sale (POS) device, including payment
- Ensure all cash handling policies & procedures are adhered to
- Ensure all opening & closing procedures are done correctly (when applicable)
- Complete end of day till reports (when applicable)
- Ensure safe is locked at all times and deposits are secured (when applicable)
Day to Day Operations
- Perform all opening and closing procedures (when applicable)
- Stock shelves and cooler with product
- Participate in merchandising and promotional activities
- Participate in routine store maintenance and cleaning
- Other tasks as assigned
Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure that OHS, LP, ProServe, and other regulatory requirements and procedures are implemented and adhered to
- Maintain First-Aid, LP, and OHS Training
- Maintain ProServe Certification
- Ensure AGLC other government guidelines are met
- Adheres to all SNDL policies, with a focus on Social Responsibility
Qualifications
Work Experience
- Minimum, 1-year experience in a retail environment (preferred, not required)
- Previous liquor-related experience considered an asset
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- ProServe Certification
- First-Aid Certificate is considered an asset
- Training in wine/beer/spirits (preferred, not required)
Physical Requirements
- Available to work a varied retail schedule, including evening and weekends
- Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand for an extended period
- Comfortable climbing ladders

- Highly self-motivated

- Strong sales background

- Must be able to pass a Background Check
- Must have access to reliable transportation

The Details:
This is a part-time position that will start asap. The hours will range from 20-30 hours per week with potential for up to 40 hours a week during our peak seasons.
Wage: $20.25 /hour + $0.55/km
Responsibilities

Elevate the shopping experience by consistently maintaining well-stocked and appealing product displays throughout the store. This involves the skillful transport of goods from the backroom to the front-of-store using manual or powered equipment such as pallet jacks and hand-trucks.

Showcase your creativity by designing, altering, or removing product displays with a commitment to adhering to company standards. This includes maintaining product signage, ensuring cleanliness and organization of product spaces, and promptly addressing damaged or defective items.

Uphold the highest standards of Coca-Cola Canada Bottling and Store policies when it comes to backroom management, display floor organization, replenishment, equipment usage, and safety practices

Take charge of the backroom by efficiently organizing product stock, monitoring and reporting inventory levels, addressing damaged items, repacking products, and maintaining order with backroom materials like pallets and product shells. Complete any required paperwork meticulously.

Prioritize safety by maintaining a clean and orderly work area in strict compliance with Company safety and sanitation requirements.

Cultivate positive and professional relationships with colleagues and customers.

Regularly lift, carry, and position products (weighing up to 50lbs or 22kgs) above shoulder height independently.

Display your flexibility by kneeling, squatting, and reaching above your head with ease.

Exhibit your strength and stamina by efficiently pushing and pulling manual or powered equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand-trucks) containing product loads for at least 100 yards.

Be prepared to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in grocery, retail, warehousing or related field preferred
- Experience working with manual or powered pallet jacks preferred
- Minimum one (1) year experience working under little to no supervision preferred
- Must have a personal vehicle for use during working hours
- Must have current vehicle liability insurance
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record with no major violations over the last three (3) years
