In partnership with the Customer Insights Data and Analytics teams and our IT partners the Data and Analytics Technology team supports the banks Data and Analytics needs with tooling, projects and IT operational support. The Sr Cloud Support Engineer role will be responsible for the Building, tuning, managing infrastructure, Platform site reliability, monitoring and troubleshooting bank wide initiatives supported by Data and Analytics Technology on GCP Platform. This consists of platform building, tooling, integration, process automation, platform enhancement, and delivery of new projects

• Guidance and Direction: Provide clear direction to the team, set goals and keep the team accountable for their deliverables. Align team goals with the overall direction of the Platform.

• Technical Oversight: Understand GCP services, Platform architecture and best practices. 

• Quality Assurance: Ensure high quality of support delivery for the platform users. Adhere to the Platform SLAs and service objectives. 

• Process Improvements: Continually improve Platform processes and Standard operation procedures for efficiency gains and automation.  

• Customer Relations: Create a strong relationship with the platform user base. Communicate effectively with the platform stakeholders and cross-functional teams within the Bank.

• Advanced Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues to ensure optimal system performance.

• Site reliability: Analyze, triage and resolve Platform issue promptly to achieve Platform site reliability objectives.

• Incident Management: Provide support during major Incidents including after-hours support. Design strategies for Incident response and user communications

• Observability Tools development: Design, build and, deploy cloud logging and monitoring solutions, including improvement to current solutions for early detection of issues

• Cloud Managed Application Development: Design, build, and implement solutions around standard public cloud services like, Google Cloud storage, Bigquery, Vertex AI Notebooks, Cloud Run and Cloud Functions among others, Using Terraform Modules.

• Release Control Management: Maintain and enhance the Release Control Management pipeline using Terraform, Cloud build and GitHub Actions and Bitbucket/GitHub repositories.

• Client Pipeline Management: Implement CI/CD process by designing industry standard Cloud Build for deploying Infrastructure and analytics workloads using Terraform, Docker, Cloud build, GitHub Actions, Artifact registry and other build / deployment activities

• Credential Security: Setup Hashicorp Vault and Secret Manager for secret management.  Integrate security solutions with client interfaces

• Client User Acceptance Testing: Lead clients in user acceptance testing for component and base image upgrades, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruptions.

• Vendor and Technical Support Interaction: Regularly meet with product vendors and technical support to fine-tune and troubleshoot software components, ensuring the highest level of system performance and reliability.

• Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers in best practices for building, deploying, testing, and supporting services, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

• 5+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• 5+ years of experience with Cloud Managed Development/Services such as Google Cloud Storage

• 5+ years of experience in using Infrastructure as Code tooling like Terraform

• 5+ years of experience with development languages (Go, Python, etc.) You’ll be automating tasks, creating scripts, and developing infrastructure as code.

• 5+ years of experience with container-based technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

• 5+ years of experience in the use of CI/CD Tools

• In-depth understanding of different database technologies (e.g., CloudSQL, NoSQL, Relational databases)

• Comprehensive understanding of software development lifecycle and release process (container-native workflow for job orchestration, Git/GitOps, CI/CD, environments, code repositories)

• 5+ years of experience with config management tools and Scripting Languages (Ansible, Bash, Groovy)

• Experience in Managing team and good interpersonal skills for working with cross cutting teams.

• Google Cloud Architect certification will be a strong asset. 

• Experience in managing and supporting platforms and applications with large user base is mandatory.

• Team player with effective communication skills (verbal and written)

• Able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance

• Self-managed and results-oriented with sense of ownership is required

• A university degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Management or relevant.

The Maintenance Technician III supports the FedEx industrial maintenance of material handling to complete preventative and predictive maintenance and repair of material handling systems. Will utilize prescribed processes as they relate to mechanical power transmission, electrical, PLC/controls, welding/fabrication and other industrial maintenance related systems. May troubleshoot component and systems issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Under minimal supervision, provides preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of material handling systems through demonstrated proficiency in mechanical power transmission and electrical with working knowledge of PLC/controls and welding/fabrication
• Adheres to all applicable safety standards and promotes a safe work environment by attending safety meetings and required trainings and addressing all safety concerns
• Will interpret electrical or mechanical schematics, manufacturer’s manuals and engineering specifications to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair system faults and failures or determine escalation
• Responds to sort calls to diagnose problems and make repairs
• Ability to utilize the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software to enter and retrieve prescribed data
• Complex skills required in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical and/or PLC/controls failures
• May rely on higher level Technicians in complex control systems issues
• May begin to read PLC and have the ability to burn EEPROMs
• May begin to assist lower level technicians
• May begin to develop scopes of work and project plans for small scale projects to be executed at a local level
• May be required to work a flexible schedule including all days and shifts as the business need dictates.

Examples of what you can expect to learn in the Tech III level (does not include all areas/responsibilities).

Mechanical

• Understand power transmission concepts, such as gear ratios, service factor, horsepower and frame size to repair/replace a failed gearbox and/or motor when the correct replacement parts are not available
• Understand mechanical design concepts to be able to replace failed pulleys and bearings with replacements that don’t match design without impacting performance of a conveyor (speed, torque, etc.)
• Can read, interpret and create or modify mechanical drawings

Electrical

• Use a digital multimeter to resistance test de-energized circuits.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose both the power and the control branch of motor controls circuits.
• Read, interpret and create or modify electrical drawings/schematics

PLC/Controls

• Go online with PLC processors to aid in troubleshooting
• Burn EEPROMs
• Understand PLC networks, such as ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.

Welding or Fabrication

• MIG, stick and TIG weld in all positions.
• Understand difference between structural and non-structural welds and when to apply them
• Repair broken components where factors such as position or load may impact the repair, such as motor mounting plates or conveyor legs.
• Use vertical mill/drill and other machining tools

MINIMUM EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Certificates in Industrial Maintenance/Mechatronics, electrical or mechanical trade or related area and an associate degree in a related area preferred.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

• Four (4) years experience in Industrial Maintenance with proficiency in knowledge and demonstrated skills in mechanical power transmission, electrical and working knowledge of PLC/Controls and welding/fabrication skills through job experience, related military experience and/or related education required.
• Multiple certificates and degrees may be assessed by manager and HR to determine relevancy to minimum qualifications and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to follow procedures as directed by work orders or high-level technicians/management
• Ability to interpret electrical or mechanical schematics, manufacturer’s manuals and engineering specifications to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair system faults and failures or determine escalation

• Ability to solve mechanical or electrical problems, which may include understanding of engineering formulas

• Need to collaborate successfully with department, operations, vendors and support teams that failures or projects may require

What you will do 

• Load and unload products in a timely manner to meet delivery deadlines and customer commitments.
• Receive incoming shipments and verify their accuracy.
• Promptly place products in appropriate areas of the warehouse.
• Prepare, pack and ship customer orders, including preparing documents for shipping.
• Liaise with transportation companies and internal/external customers to determine shipping priorities.
