Cenovus is currently looking for two Maintenance Technician, Millwrights at Foster Creek. Reporting to the Mechanical Coordinator at Foster Creek, Millwright Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair to the assets in a designated work area that includes pumps, piping, valves, PSVs, compressors, vessels, fans, gearboxes, mechanical seals, and packings. This is a hands-on role that will be required to work in conjunction with and supervise our service provider workforce.

While this vacancy is currently at Foster Creek, this posting could be used to fill vacancies at any of the three Oil Sands Operations sites (Christina Lake, Foster Creek, or Sunrise, based on business need).

Work Environment:

Foster Creek & Christina Lake

• This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation

• Foster Creek and Christina Lake has full-service camp facilities

• Depending on your place of residence and your shift rotation, bus and/or air transportation to/from site is offered from designated departure points in select locations

• Foster Creek is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton

• Christina Lake is serviced by flight Hubs in Calgary and Edmonton as well as bus transportation to site from La Corey, AB. and Lac La Biche, AB

Sunrise

• This is a full-time employee position working a shift rotation

• Sunrise is located approximately 100 km northeast of the City of Fort McMurray and is a fly in/ fly out remote camp-based position.

• Cenovus will provide transportation to Sunrise from designated hubs out of Calgary and Edmonton

• At the Sunrise site, employees will be provided comfortable camp accommodations and recreational amenities

What you’ll do:

• Provide expertise in the maintenance of all SAGD processing facilities including but not limited to Steam, water reuse, and Amine Clause unit

• Perform and/or lead the performance of work required to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, perform oil sample collections and prepare detailed documentation

• Support facility engineering department on approved MOC (management of change) scopes of work

• Identify and assess opportunities to improve safety, reliability, and maintenance costs

• Lead compliance to industry and Cenovus’s requirements, ensure effective communication with operations, maintenance, and management staff

• Conduct work in a safe manner following Cenovus’s Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and Safe Work Practices such as hazard identification, and emergency response

• Maintain proper documentation of calibration and repair records

• Responsible for corrective/preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on pumps, compressors, fans, motors, filters, gearboxes, and turbines.

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

• Journeyman Millwright certification

• 5+ years’ experience as journeyman Millwright in Oil & Gas industry or similar

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, OneNote and SAP

• Shutdown leadership experience considered an asset

As a heavy equipment operator, you will have the opportunity to become a dedicated contributor to our oil sands mining operations operating ultra class haul trucks.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 6 months' experience with operating equipment (haul trucks, wiggle wagon, dozers, graders, excavators) in industries such as mining, civil earthworks, pipelines, sawmills, pulp and paper mills or manufacturing, or highway construction.

• A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or Canadian Adult Educational Credential (CAEC) or 10+ years of work experience.

• A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities:

• Be a positive contributor to building safety culture.

• Complete walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments

• Operate various makes and models of haul trucks.

Location and other Key Details:

• The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts).

Overview

The Electrician position, under limited direction, installs, maintains, test, troubleshoots and repairs industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls. Primarily accountable for interpreting architectural drawings and electrical code specifications and form and test electrical circuits to ensure health and safety regulations. In addition, assure proper functioning and illumination of electrical equipment and work on equipment such as electrical transmission lines, motors, generators, distribution and plant equipment.

Performance Expectations

· Oversee inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with Ontario Electrical Standards Act.

· Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components as needed.

· Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.

· Update and log electrical changes.

· Maintain needed spares and purchase material in the most cost effective manner.

· Evaluate power for new equipment and connect to the Ontario Electrical Code.

· Complete interface to CNC equipment.

· Coordinate with all plant services and contractors as needed.

· Train and direct electrical employees and ensure they perform to required standards.

· Interpret information from pre-maintenance work orders to determine the location and appropriate work necessary.

· Take measurements using high voltage testing equipment.

Credentials

· Able to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications.

· Technical school training and has completed the apprenticeship program.

· Licensed electrician (309A).

· Minimum two years of previous related experience.

· Able to read schematic drawings in order to troubleshoot and repair equipment.

· Ability to troubleshoot and determine resolutions when encountering malfunctions in equipment.

· Knowledge of phone systems, network cabling, security systems, door access systems and video surveillance systems is an asset.

· Able to work rotating shifts and weekend work, as needed.

· Travel may be required between Guelph facilities.

Desired Characteristics

· Ability to work independently, in addition, work as part of a team that includes other tradespeople and professionals to install, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment.

· Receive in-house safety training to update certifications such as Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
