What you will do:

  • A very key element, is that you will learn the nuts and bolts of the legacy ERP system, so that you can participate in leveraging changes to enable new technologies that integrate with the ERP, and or simulate the ERP on newer technology platforms
  • Initiate and facilitate requirement discovery sessions with business stakeholders to fully understand the business request, refining the requirement by sharing proposed designs and solutions as well as incorporating feedback
  • Responsible for analyzing business needs to identify use cases, and if necessary new processes, process improvements that will meet those needs
  • Ensure business requirements are translated to functional requirements for development, these document types may include use cases and user stories, business requirements documents, functional specifications, wireframe designs and product backlog items
  • Evaluate the impact of potential software and process changes on the organization
  • Analyze data and data models to effectively suggest solutions to business requirements
  • Work with IT teams to provide estimates for level of effort (LOE) and estimated time of delivery
  • Provide direction and clarification to development and quality assurance teams to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and delivered as planned
  • Perform demonstrations of new features and solutions to business stakeholders and greater IT department
  • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure that user stories and changes are delivered to production with appropriate coordination and training
  • Responsible for Tier 2 technical support. This includes ensuring user issues are documented properly, addressed in a timely manner and escalated as required
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with all IT, service consumer and business stakeholders

What will you do:

  • Complete the daily out of stock review, identifying trends and inventory depth opportunities that could result in out of stocks.
  • Promotional forecasting – Analyze inventory and sales data (where required) to support proposed promo position and evaluate impact on current and future inventory levels to determine the best way to support customers.
  • Execute department and SKU level plans to drive availability i.e., Core
  • Evaluate minimum presentation/ Bin fill quantities, stock balancing, and inventory variances at store and make required changes and/or recommendations as required.

Under the direction of the Supervisor of Platform Systems, the successful candidate is responsible for backup/recovery and providing multiple copies of protected data to different end-points. Ensure that data centre environmental equipment, PDUs, HVAC, UPS, power transfer switches, and generator monitoring and alerting are within thresholds. Ensure data centres are running at a high level of reliability and availability to our clients, including planning for future growth and sustainability. 

This position will require a hybrid work arrangement (minimum of 3 days of work in the office) for an undetermined period. Once the City’s offices fully re-open, you may be required to work out of Mississauga City Hall at 300 City Centre Drive (possibly on a rotational basis).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Backup and restore data for clients; restore deleted files or special backup requests for application upgrades or legal; restore corrupt or deleted emails for individual users.
  • Backup and recovery of MSSQL, Oracle, Linux, MS Exchange, Metallic M365, and SAP HANA to multiple locations, including SAN, tape libraries and cloud.
  • Recovering corrupt or deleted VMWare virtual or physical servers from backups as required
  • Server and Storage Provisioning: Building physical and virtual servers that host various software. Ensuring that servers are correctly added to the domain with appropriate storage resources assigned and maintained
  • Data Centre proactive monitoring and operational support; Troubleshooting and monitoring data centre using various tools, including SolarWinds, replacing failed systems equipment for 7/24/365 uptime and working with external computer vendors to resolve issues and vendor health checks. Work with facilities to ensure the health of the data centre environmental equipment by coordinating scheduled and preventative maintenance activities such as generator and UPS tests and being on-site where required to monitor. Informing Facilities of issues.
  • Security, Patching, firmware and keeping Infrastructure updated for the Enterprise backup infrastructure.
  • As part of a team and as required, updating firmware on systems, storage and operating systems to prevent issues from occurring, allowing the servers and equipment to continue to run optimally.
  • Work with clients and vendors to repair and troubleshoot infrastructure equipment related to backup and restore software and equipment.
  • Data Centre equipment, life cycle and decommissioning. Manage equipment, including installing, receiving, asset tagging, keeping systems up to date, and decommissioning equipment using industry best practices.
  • Participate in technical projects as a core or part of extended teams as it pertains to backup and recovery solutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, along with SOPs and technical diagrams.
  • Collaborate with IT Architects to build backup and related infrastructure as required.
  • Work closely with Cyber Security to maintain and improve security posture
  • The role will include operational work, managing assigned work requests, providing 3rd-level support to IT Helpdesk incidents\tickets and occasional project work

Skills and Qualifications

Job Summary

The City of Mississauga is looking for a passionate and talented IT Network Specialist to join our Network Data team.  Reporting to the Network Data team Supervisor, you will be supporting IT team members and interacting with business units to implement and resolve IT issues.  This will include, but not limited to, resolving Helpdesk tickets, implementing firewall rules, pre-configuring and replacing networking equipment, and project assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Participate as a team member to provide Network support to the business areas.

  • Proactively monitor automated alerts and respond with timely resolution to Systems deficiencies and problems.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with automation tools (ie Ansible or Terraform) would be preferred;

  • Demonstrated experience of  authentication protocols(Radius,TACACS),  Load Balancers(Preferably F5), Cisco ASA/NGFW Firewalls , ASA/NGFW VPN  technologies;
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science, Networking, Information Technology or related discipline  with 3 to 5 years of experience in the use, setup and support of an enterprise WAN, LAN and WLAN Cisco centric network infrastructure; 
  • Must have experience in the design, install, setup, maintain and support expertise in routing and switching skills, TCP/IP protocols and aspects of networking (L2, L3, LAN and WLAN);  
  • Exposure and proficient with HSRP, BGP and EIGRP/OSPF routing protocols, SNMP, network performance and testing tools and other protocols is preferred;
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools(Cisco Prime,Solarwinds) and the ability to review logs and make recommendations;
  • Must have solid technical, analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; 
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills and demonstrated ability to deal effectively with clients;

The Solid Waste Data Analyst utilizes data analytics to assess and communicate progress towards Solid Waste Utility and Street Cleaning business goals. Support continuous improvement of service delivery and policy setting.

 

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining reports that provide insights into business operations and support decision-making. The position is responsible for researching, compiling, tracking, analyzing, forecasting, recommending, and maintaining best practices for solid waste data. This role is responsible for assessing and reporting key performance indicators. The Solid Waste Data Analyst is expected to work with confidential and sensitive data, including that to identify work force trends and inform strategic direction regarding operational improvements, capital investments, procurements, and negotiations pertaining to legal agreements.

 

The immediate focus of the position will include:

  1. Development and consolidation of operational reports used daily to assess operational effectiveness using python and BI tools,
  2. Support in preparing forecasts and completing sensitivity analysis to support capital project planning; and,
  3. Assist Senior Data Systems Analyst in upcoming data management platform implementation.

 

The position reports to the Operational Technology, Program Lead and works closely with the Senior Data System Analyst. They support Solid Waste Services Branch’s ongoing programs and the planning of new initiatives. The position also interacts with the Director of Solid Waste, Managers of Sanitation Operations as well as Transfer and Landfill Operations including their supervisory and technical staff as required, supporting the Division’s overall business priorities.

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains operational and strategic metrics related to the City’s Solid Waste Utility and street cleaning operations.
  • Prepares reports for senior governments related to regulatory requirements and regional initiatives.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of data pipelines to collect, clean, and transform data from various sources including IoT sensors, asset management system(s), weigh scale software, time tracking, SAP, etc.
  • Develops data visualizations using BI tools, python and/or GIS software.
  • Researches, develops, implements, and maintains best practices for reporting and data management. Collates, reconciles, investigates, and resolves data discrepancies/anomalies/gaps; analyzes, charts, and interprets findings to support business decisions.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of data quality monitoring programs to ensure accuracy, validity, and timeliness of data. Reconciles and corrects data and processes as needed.
  • Establish and maintains good working relationships with key internal staff from operational branches, other departments, and external partners to ensure validity of performance metrics, align data entry practices with metric calculations and support meaningful interpretation

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of a certificate, diploma, or post-secondary degree in data, mathematics, statistical analysis, or information technology or a related discipline; or equivalent education and experience
