The Specialist I TIS Data and Analytics leads data engineering efforts for the existing portfolio of data analytics products, solutions, services, and supporting technologies, including modern cloud-based systems and other service and solution components within Enbridge.
What you will do:

Understand strategic imperatives of the business and conducts value assessments to support prioritization of opportunities, including initiatives related to the data analytics portfolio through planning, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, risk/issue management, and status reporting.

Assist in solutions architecture, data engineering, DevOps and analytics related strategic planning activities.

Lead data engineering from an operational standpoint and provides expert recommendations for data engineering product design and know-how to address business needs.

Partner with TIS Functional teams in delivery and sustainment of data analytics product needs

Using an Agile methodology, organize the work efforts of the Data and Analytics teams to ensure all data engineering products, services, and solution enhancement designs align with enterprise architecture direction and standard methodologies and meet customer requests in a timely manner.

Implement and provides insight to standards, guidelines, and best practices for the data management program.

Make decisions on moderately complex to highly complex data issues regarding technical approach for project and operational components within the team’s data and reporting framework.

Act as a liaison between Data and Analytics team and external analytics service providers, partner with business relationship managers, business users, portfolio architects, functional and product owners, data analysts, solution and data architects, and data scientists to identify and develop data engineering use cases with attention to cloud computing (batch, micro-batch, or stream processing) and storage.

Provide strategic and expert guidance in development of data engineering models and ensures processes and solution components conform to technical functionality (e.g., preparation of high-quality data, security, performance, scalability, data recovery, and reliability)
Who you are:

You have bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field and 7+ years progressively professional experience in a computer engineering role

Deep understanding of modern data engineering and big data analytics technologies, including analytical data stores (e.g., Delta tables, Data Lakehouse architecture), performance tuning and optimization, machine learning, advanced visualization, and automation

Sophisticated level knowledge of relational, NoSQL, or NewSQL database systems; data modeling; and managing structured and unstructured data.

Experience with scaling data engineering solutions using development tools for CI/CD, unit and integration testing, orchestration.

Advanced algorithm design and production programming skills in Python, Scala, Kafka, Hive, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, REST API, and other related coding languages with proven experience using Apache Spark and designing relevant data structures, algorithms, and techniques related to systems that support high volume, velocity, or variety datasets including apps that utilize machine learning and artificial intelligence (ML/AI)

Technical experience in leading the development of data engineering pipelines using Databricks and integrating them into cloud-based analytical solutions working in collaboration with data ingestion, data engineering, data provisioning, data visualization, and data science teams.

Understanding of parallel and distributed data processing techniques and platforms (MPI, Map/Reduce, Batch) and systems and cloud infrastructure tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, and Ansible)

Strong DevOps skillset ranging from but not limited to, software development, IT operations, automation, Cloud computing and monitoring and logging.

Job Description:
PC & Printer Deployments
- Responsible for client assets including, but not limited to, laptops, printers, desktops, etc.
- Assist in the tracking and management of all IT asset throughout its operating life.
- Collaboration with internal departments to meet their PC & printing needs
- Investigate and recovery of dark devices
- Report off-line printer page counts for billing purposes & toner deliveries
- Continuous Process Improvement
Accessory Management Requests & Incidents
- Inventory validation – corrections and updates
- Investigate unused & missing devices
- Arrange lease return or recycle PC, printer, and mobile hardware
- Investigate & resolve non-reporting device/printer (NRD’s) issues
- Investigate & resolve failure in consumable deliveries
Service Now ITAM
- Incidents & Requests Queue Management
- Maintain inventory in Service Now of deployed hardware
- Process PC, Printer and accessory requests in Service Now
- Participate in the evaluation and implementation of ITIL best-practice operational processes
- Knowledge Base (KB) and Service Request (SR) creation and updates

The Information Technology Division requires one (1) Help Desk Analyst to provide first level/first point of contact IT support for the Edmonton Police Service. The successful candidate will exercise a sufficient level of technical and customer service skills to perform the following duties:
- Provide excellent end user support and problem resolution via telephone, email and in-person communication.
- Effectively diagnose problematic situations to immediately initiate remedial procedures to restore service.
- Provide consultation, advice, and guidance in the effective application of hardware and software products.
- Record, categorize and prioritize incidents and service requests according to defined processes to meet defined SLAs.

Qualifications
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade.
- Relevant technical computing diploma/certificate from a recognized Community College or Technical Institute with a minimum of 750 instructional hours.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a computer systems support role in a customer service environment.
- An equivalent combination of recognized certified computer instruction courses or experience may be considered in lieu of a technical diploma.
- Must possess ITIL V3 or V4 certification.
- CompTIA A+ certification considered an asset.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft products including – Windows 10, 11, M365.

Role
Reporting to the IM Programs Manager and as a member of a support team, the Information Analyst supports the provision of information management (IM) advice, guidance, and direction to client ministries. This position has a key role in gathering information that will be used to support recommendations, strategies and approaches to enhance the implementation of the IM Program within one or more departments. The Information Analyst plans and collects information related to the delivery of IM services and participates in the identification/creation of IM solutions to support specific business activities, processes, and requirements.
This position also supports IM Programs strategic projects that are designed to enhance the centralized IM Program services to ensure that all services are client centered, coordinated, and optimized. Work may also include supporting the review and risk assessments associated with Technology development projects, and supporting the roll-out of tools and procedures to ensure IM risks are identified and minimized.
To be effective, the Information Analyst must understand where to find various legislation and policy instruments and understand where to identify what solutions are available to assist clients with their solutions. The role reviews solutions to ensure they are client focused and will be effective in meeting both end users need and be compliant with existing policy instrument. This will ensure that the Government of Alberta understands and minimizes Information Management risks and leverages information to it's fullest potential.
Responsibilities encompass the analysis and implementation phases for a broad variety of IM initiatives including:
- Completing reviews and collection of IM requirements and practices;
- Understanding current business processes and procedures;
- Supporting clients in understanding IM risks related to current business activities; and
- Supporting the roll-out of tools and procedures to minimize the IM risks that exist.
