WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The US Risk Technology team is undertaking multiple complex enterprise-wide initiatives as part of RBC’s ongoing plan to improve patterns of data delivery and consumption out of lake. We are moving towards standardizing a single source of reporting and calculation layer for our consumers. In this role, you can make a big difference to the success of an important project in Global Functions Technology team. You should have a solid understanding of computer science basics, upon which you will write high quality code. The ideal candidate has practical experience using Python, Spark and a good grasp of the Hive query language. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

• Design and implement solutions that meet the stakeholder’s needs

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Financial Transaction Manager (FTM) Developer to join the application development team. You will be responsible for delivering applications designed to resolve business system needs while working closely with various partners across IT. • Act as an expert technical resource for problem analysis and solution implementation

The incumbent is also required to provide ongoing support on the production processing functionality
• Requires to be on pager rotation for 24x7  for application support (overnight batch)

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe development complex programs using Cobol, JCL, IMS DB/DC, DB2, Netron, VSAM, CICS, CA7, SAS, SDSF.
• Experience with Security and environment control systems (Endevor, ACF2), Problem Analysis (Fault Analyzer) , Database Management (e.g. IMS, DB2, VSAM)
• Experience in Utilities and productivity tools (e.g. MVS/TSO, UCANDU, ACR, COMPAREX, SYNCSORT, IDCAMS, CRF, File Manager and etc.) an asset
• Experience working in an agile environment and SDLC methodology
• Understanding of File Transfer protocols and processes ie. FTP, SFTP, PGP Encryption
• Strong knowledge of DB2 database, z/OS Debugger, DFSORT, JCL and COBOL
• Understanding mainframe integration for ETL processing
• Experience and knowledge of DevOps
• Experience and knowledge of Assembly programming language an asset.
• Experience and knowledge of web services and APIs an asset
• Experience and knowledge of web and cloud (Azure) technologies an asset
• Prior experience in production support
• Fluent in English, oral and written
• Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or technical equivalent
• An understanding of current IT practices and systems development techniques
• Familiarity with data integration and data streaming, WebSphere MQ and Communication Networks
• Familiarity with event driven programming concepts
• Exposure to Data Modelling and Data Architecture
• 2-3 years experience support on UNIX RHEL 8.x

What is the opportunity?

As part of the RBC Global Asset Management (GAM) Application Resiliency team, you will be responsible for the upkeep of all RBC GAM's applications. You will be responsible for timely incident resolution and change implementation. You will also get involved directly or request coordination of resources from other technical and the business teams in the group.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform stakeholder analysis to identify impacted or influencing groups and stakeholder requirements and responsibilities.

• You will look for areas of improvement in monitoring application stability.

• You will communicate the overall status with the line of business and management.

• Gather and analyze metrics from applications and infrastructure to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.

• Develop plans and accurate estimates for completion of requirements, continuously improving the detail and accuracy of estimates.

• Facilitate collaborative sessions with extensive and diverse business stakeholder groups to drive requirements discovery, analysis, and review

• Provide facilitation services to business stakeholders, including partnering with third-party vendors and assisting in evaluating third-party vendor solutions and requirements.

• Prepare, review and support requirement validation and sign off utilizing various facilitation and communication techniques.

• Act as a liaison between technical, operations, and business stakeholders to resolve planning and implementation issues as well as operational support issues

• Act as a project manager and work with technical and operational SMEs to develop test and implementation plans, overseeing implementations, including user acceptance testing and any modification; may also lead to low-complexity projects end-to-end.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have.

• 5+ years of Financial Industry experience, asset management preferred

• 3+ years of related work experience as a Technical Systems Analyst or Business Analyst with progressively increasing responsibilities in the areas of requirements management on large and complex projects

• Knowledge and experience supporting .Net, Java applications in traditional and modern containerized applications.

• Understanding of best practices in security.
