As a Road Assist Fleet Technician, you’ll use your mechanical expertise and problem-solving skills to help Members get back on the road safely and efficiently. Whether changing a tire, diagnosing an issue, or arranging a tow, you’ll be the reassuring presence our Members count on when they need it most.

What you'll do:

  • Respond to Member requests for roadside assistance, including mechanical repairs, battery boosts, tire changes, lockout services, and towing.

  • Conduct detailed diagnostic assessments to identify vehicle issues and resolve appropriate solutions.

  • Perform automotive repairs and maintenance tasks, ensuring quality workmanship and timely completion.

  • Assist in all weather conditions, ensuring a positive Member experience throughout the assistance process.

  • Promote BCAA memberships and general information about affiliate products and services.

  • Report any issues and take the initiative to resolve them, seeking support as needed.

  • Uphold BCAA service and safety standards by ensuring BCAA vehicles, equipment, and tools are kept clean, orderly, and in good working condition.

  • Work rotational 24/7 shift work (including weekdays, evenings, weekends & statutory holidays).

 

What you bring:

  • Completed your high school diploma, preferably with your Red Seal Certification.

  • You have at least 5 years of hands-on automotive repair and diagnostics.

  • You’re a good driver with a clean BC Driver License Class 5.

  • You’re confident navigating our cities and towns while driving any size vehicle - including 5-ton trucks, tow trucks, and pickup trucks.

  • Capable of lifting at least 70lbs during Member service while prioritizing safety throughout the process.

The salary range for this position is $68,510.52to $85,638.12and is determined viajob-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 9%.

Responsibilities

As an Arrow driver, you will be hauling wood fibre locally in B train trailers. Wood fibre is mainly comprised of wood chips, but we also haul sawdust and hog fuel. You will travel on various highways in the Interior of BC (ie. Hwy 1 - Coquihalla, Hwy 5, and Hwy 97).

 

  • Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.
  • Perform pre and post and en route trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road-worthiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions.
  • Record, Maintain and Check all relevant paperwork (i.e. bill of lading,) and documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, CB radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisors, or other drivers.
  • Complete electronic logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status.

You will travel to our bush grinder locations in and around Kamloops. Typically, work is within 2 hours of the local pulp mill.

 

  • Oversee cargo handling and secure loads, including equipment preparation, application of safe practices, compliance with applicable Acts and Regulations.
  • Perform pre and post and en route trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
  • Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, load securement, driver's hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous goods, and weights and dimensions.
  • Record, Maintain and Check all relevant paperwork (i.e. bill of lading,) and documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
  • Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, 2 way radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, dispatch, supervisors, or other drivers.
  • Complete electronic logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status.
  • Ensure that all customers, co-workers and the public are dealt with professionally and with respect.

Working Conditions:

  • Seasonal employee between the months of October - March annually
  • Ability to work 50 - 70 hours per week as needed on a casual basis

You Possess

  • Class 1 truck driver’s license
  • A minimum of 3 year of Class 1 experience driving a logging truck is preferred
  • B train or equivalent, Mountain and Offroad driving experience is required 
  • Tire chaining experience is required
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • A positive attitude
  • At least two job references

Responsibilities

Our Kamloops Flat Deck division is currently hiring Company Drivers!  You don't have to live in Kamloops and can start work from most locations in B.C. i.e. Fraser Valley, Cariboo, Okanagan for instance.  As an Arrow driver, you will be hauling products that are directly related to building the economic growth in beautiful Western Canada. You will travel on various highways in Western Canada (ie. included but not limited to Hwy 1, Coquihalla - Hwy 5, Hwy 97, Hwy 16).

The Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching units to pick up and deliver freight, monitor the performance of drivers and ensure customer timelines are adhered to. Part of this job is on efficient utilization, management and performance of our trailer bank Refers, Dry Vans and Long Combination Vehicles allowing the company to efficiently move optimized loads and achieve on-time service to all customers and terminals.

How You’ll Help: 

  • Arrange for daily deliveries, assign pick up requests, and entre orders in the computer
  • Set up appointment freight, manifest shipments, coordinate ETA's with Central, check for expedited shipments and enter missed pick-ups
  • Answer phones and take pick-up requests
  • Perform a dock and yard check to ensure freight is not missed and trucks are on schedule
  • Coordinate drivers to come back for second round of deliveries, manifest skeleton and make linehaul orders
  • Coordinate local P&D requirements
  • Track lumpers hours and review requirements
  • Monitor driver performance and report finding to manager
  • Identify areas for improvement and efficiencies
  • Other related duties as may be required

Your Skills and Experience: 

  • Minimum of secondary education, with preference of post-secondary education (Supply Chain or Logistics Management, or a combination of education and experience
  • Previous Transportation or operational experience is preferred, various roles within transportation would be beneficial. New graduates or current students are welcome. 
    • Communication skills - advanced
    • Computer skills – accuracy, MS products, AS400, web based programs
    • Demonstrated customer relationship skills
    • Able to work deadlines in high transactional environment
