About the Opportunity

• Performs general maintenance duties and scheduled preventive maintenance work on physical facilities, equipment and grounds;
• Assembles, moves, delivers, sets up and picks up furniture and equipment;
• Performs general repair work on structures, patches & paints any damaged walls;

The General Repair Technician III is responsible for operating the facility including, but not limited to mechanical other supporting systems; performing structured inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on facility mechanical equipment and other systems. The Technician III is also responsible for performing work in accordance with established processes and practices and for complying with internal and external requirements including but not limited to environmental, health and safety, fire protection.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid 5760 Industrial Construction and Maintenance Mechanic or 5781 Automated Systems Electromechanic Certification of Qualification is highly preferred but extensive relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience performing maintenance on industrial equipment.
• Ability to receive and give instruction over radio in industrial environment.

What to Expect:  

We are looking for a Field Service Technician for Nestlé Professional based in South Shore of Montreal to cover Brossard to Drummondville region. The incumbent will perform on-site dispenser installation, service, preventative maintenance, site surveys, repair and service on a variety of beverage dispensing equipment at customer locations and facilities.

A day in the life: 

• Receive dispatched service call via dispatcher.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required.
• Diagnose and repair reported service issues and all other problems encountered, perform a quality drink check (ratio/brix), temperature and taste). 
• Provide training to customers on the daily maintenance of the dispensing equipment.
• Follow up with account until the service call is completed.
• Report all service activities accurately on invoice/service orders at the completion of every call.
• Complete and submit all other pertinent information required by supervisor/manager in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate parts and equipment inventories, keeping vehicle clean and organized.
• Travel throughout region to assist other technicians as needed.
• Interact with sales team, call center, help desk and other technicians.
• Comply with Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures including proper lifting techniques, PPE. Lock Out and Tag Out.

Role Requirements 

• Bilingualism in English and French language skills are a requirement
• Secondary education diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 2 years of previous field service experience.
• Working knowledge in electrical, mechanical reading schematics, measuring load and customer service.
• Must be able to regularly lift and install equipment of up to 55lbs.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

CPKC is hiring fulltime Equipment Operators in order to facilitate the safe and efficient loading of domestic and international containers at the Intermodal facility in Lachine, Quebec.

Starting position includes operation of various intermodal equipment (shunt trucks etc.) at the rate of $29.661 and offers near term progression to other positions within the facility, example Utility Ground at the rate of $30.985 and Heavy Equipment Operator at the rate of $34.959.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Operation of various terminal equipment including shunt trucks, light duty pickup trucks, fuel trucks, trailers, chassis, forklift, sweeper truck, etc
• Hostling containers/chassis within terminal to support train loading operations
• General duties, as required, including pre-tripping of perishable intermodal containers, building electric reefer container sets on railcars, plug in reefers on ground and monitor performance
• Perform visual inspection and report on damages and defects of intermodal equipment
• Prepare railcars for proper loading of different-size containers by placement of pedestals and spacers
• Assist in securement of containers once loaded to railcar (walking on railcar platforms, locking/unlocking IBC’s)
• Update system as required once work is completed
• Other miscellaneous duties as/when required
• This is a safety-sensitive position within an environment of heavy equipment and constant flow of traffic

• Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution required
• Provincial HVAC or apprentice license (ex: Gasfitter I & II license  refrigeration license, etc.)

Your main responsibility will be to plan and schedule the various mechanical and electrical maintenance works such as repair, modification, health and safety and preventive maintenance of equipment.

You will also ensure that health and safety rules as well as those related to environmental protection are respected. You will work closely with the logistics and production departments to establish maintenance work schedules.

As part of the implementation of our best practices in maintenance (Planning & Scheduling, failure analyses, document updates and part purchases), you will encourage innovation and the implementation of means to improve line performance, reduce maintenance costs and control losses.

Responsibilities:

• Track equipment history, costs and repairs to develop effective and proactive planning;
• Continuous updating of the CMMS system;
• Develop and maintain KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) with the aim of improving the maintenance function;
• Plan training sessions for our employees in partnership with the training center;
• Organize planning meetings to prioritize maintenance work and labor;
• Ensure daily follow-up with maintenance coordinators to validate workforce availability and update the assignment schedule;
• Actively participate in the implementation of best planning and scheduling practices;
• Encourage and support your team members to reach their full potential and continually seek more efficient ways of working.

Qualifications:

• Hold a DEC in mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance and/or equivalent experience in maintenance;
• Have experience in planning and scheduling maintenance work;
• Have experience with SAP (an asset);
• Have solid technical knowledge;
• Have a good team spirit and collaboration;
• Ensure that tasks are in line with health, safety and environmental rules as well as the company's internal rules;
• Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as good influential leadership in order to effectively mobilize our employees;
• Solid knowledge of the MS Office suite (Excel, Access and Word) and good skills in managing and manipulating databases;
• You successfully and autonomously evolve in an environment of multiple projects, changing priorities and tight deadlines, while knowing how to adapt when required;
• You have ideally participated in the implementation of best practices and continuous improvement processes;
• You are bilingual (English, French) both orally and in writing;
• You are comfortable in a change management context as well as a unionized environment;
• The working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday;
