Our friendly Member Advice Specialists are sales and customer service superstars who bring our “How can we help you?” brand to life with every member they interact with. Imagine helping our members with Fulfilling basic personal credit needs, selling and handling Low Fee More for Me Mutual Funds, Term deposits, RRSPs, Setting up electronic services like our internet banking, opening free Chequing accounts, adding overdraft protection to help avoid those nasty NSF charges. But it doesn’t end there, Member Advice Specialists do two other very importing things. First, they are sales pros. They uncover opportunities where we can better help our members with our fantastic line-up of products and services. Next, they figure out who in the company can best help that member, be it themselves or another teammate.
Accountabilities
- Getting a natural high from delivering positive and unexpected customer experience through general retail banking
- Having fun engaging customers in the “Where You Are At Money Chat” to help your customer to save, grow, protect and improve their financial well-being
- Working as a high-performing team member within the branch to ensure all checks and balances are completed around policies and regulatory requirements
- Proactively and creatively offer helpful solutions and alternatives to customer inquiries
- Earning high-fives from your managers and peers for achieving sales and referrals targets in a needs based sales environment
Skills & Qualifications
- Certificate in Investment Funds in Canada or equivalent is a MUST have requirement at the time of application .
- We don’t need mathematical geniuses here, though ability to add and subtract would be useful. Mostly we just need people who are comfortable helping customers with simple financial help and promoting our products and services.
- Experience helping members in either a bank or credit union for a minimum three years, preferably where you mastered lending and investments, and you used your x-ray vision to spot sales and referral opportunities.
- You are excited to share with the world what you learned during your post-secondary education in finance, business administration or a related field. And you aren’t done learning; you have a desire to know more.
- You really like building relationships with a wide variety of people and want to help them with simple financial help.
- You are a big fan of teamwork and demonstrate your team spirit every day.

Experience, competencies & qualifications

- Experience in home support and multi-level/complex care
- Two or more years of full time Canadian nursing experience (1 year = 1400hrs) with relevant knowledge of the Canadian health care system, the roles and responsibilities of healthcare team members and current policies and procedures within residential and community care settings. Nursing work experience to include: Experience in working with older adults with complex health needs; and Experience or orientation (e.g., shadow shifts) in home support and multi-level/complex care.
- Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners, which may be evidenced by satisfactory references, positive performance evaluations, and student course evaluations OR completion of the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (or equivalent education)
- Evidence of completion of course work in Indigenous cultural safety and humility
- Able to verify vaccine status as required by the Provincial Health Officer for those working in long term care settings
- Evidence of completion of the Health Care Assistant Practice in BC course available on the LearningHub as part of their orientation/on-boarding. This will support a current understanding of the role of the HCA within BC.

The Early Childhood Educator is an Early Childhood Care and Education position in the Capilano University Children’s Centre. The position is responsible for the care, education and well-being of children age 0-5. Early Childhood Educators work collaboratively with other educators, and with the Centre for Childhood Studies, to provide a nurturing, inclusive and rich early learning environment for young children. The position reports to the Manager of the Children’s Centre and to the Dean of the faculty of Education, Health and Human Development.
ECEs demonstrate sound ethical and professional practices, which reflect the ECEBC Code of Ethics and the BC Early Learning Framework. They are in dialogue with, and guided by, the Early Learning Frameworks focus on 1) well-being and belonging, 2) engagement with others, materials and the world, 3) communication and literacies, and 4) identities, social responsibility and diversity in daily classroom practice. ECEs and the Children’s Centre stand as allies with the BC Aboriginal Child Care Society, working in all ways to honour the Indigenous Early Learning and Care Framework in daily practice.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK
- Assists with organizing, and delivers the programs and operations of the Child Care Centre.
- Creates a nurturing, inclusive and rich early learning environment for children from infancy to 5 years old in dialogue with the Children’s Centre’s Pedagogical Commitments. Curates and maintains an aesthetic, organized, clean, safe and welcoming environment at the centre.
- Respects the diversity, beliefs, and cultural practices of all families and draws on their strength and knowledge.
- Works with external partners and Manager to incorporate Indigenous knowledge into play and programming.
- Supports a play based, family-centred early care and learning environment for children by providing a place for them to develop their potential through freedom to explore and engage in the world around them.

CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or other relevant field.
- Considerable progressive experience in community settings, working with homeless populations or other diverse populations with complex social and/or health care needs and/or behavioural issues.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the employer.
- As a condition of initial and ongoing employment with BC Housing, the incumbent must maintain current registration with the appropriate professional certifying body relating to their credentials that is acceptable to the employer.
- Criminal Record Check required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Considerable knowledge of the different types of mental health and/or addiction housing models.
- Sound knowledge of current social issues including homelessness, mental illness, drug addiction, domestic violence, child protection and ageing.
- Considerable knowledge and skills in psychosocial rehabilitation and Housing First practices.
- Sound knowledge of government and non-profit agencies in the community served, and the role of community health resources and other social services.
