What will you do?

  • Develop solutions for a cutting-edge cloud-native deployment ecosystem.

What do you need to succeed?
Must Haves:

  • Application development experience in OOP preferably in Python and Go.

  • Solid understanding of designing and building testable products.

  • Providing a first class User Experience from the start.

  • Enterprise security mindset building safe and secure products.

  • Infrastructure-as-Code development experience preferably with Terraform on Azure.

 

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Temporal workflow development.

  • Experience with other public/private cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, WMWare etc.

  • Experience with Kubernetes concepts such as Pods, Operators and Custom Resource Definitions.

  • A public GitHub account that shows recent development activity and demonstrates a passion for development and technology.

JOB SUMMARY

The Chief Information Security Office is responsible for delivering and overseeing cybersecurity and digital risk management programs across all City business lines, including strategic enablement and emerging threats identification, policy and implementation oversight, digital risk management, and security governance and culture transformation. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in technology administration, information security, or risk management.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Related Information/Technology Security certification is desirable (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, SABSA, CAP, EC-Council)

KNOWLEDGE

  • Deep subject matter expertise in Information Security, Compliance and/or Risk Management programs and best practices, preferably within the Tech and Public Administration Sectors

    •  Implementing and reviewing/auditing environmental management systems.

    • Implementing an effective resource conservation (climate/water/waste) program in a manufacturing setting.

    • Engaging and influencing internal audiences around the benefits of sound environmental management.

    • Collecting, analyzing and reporting environmental and sustainability data.

Job Summary

Position Summary

This position performs complex and advanced technical work including database management, asset management, traffic engineering and operation, infrastructure planning, design, construction, operation, preservation and management. Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate databases related to transportation infrastructure planning, operation, preservation, traffic safety, material testing, and field inspection.
  • Provide technical analysis and support for transportation infrastructure, including planning, design, construction, operation, preservation, and performance.
  • Review and ensure compliance of drawings, specifications, and plans from consultants and developers with City standards.
  • Manage and conduct data collection, sample programs, and supervise staff, consultants, and contractors.
  • Operate and analyze results from specialized software (e.g., transportation modeling, capacity analysis, SPL, MMS) to support road network planning, construction, and traffic safety programs.
  • Develop and review standards, specifications, and manuals for traffic operations, roadway construction, maintenance, and field services.
  • Research and implement new technologies and best practices in roadway and traffic design, construction, and operations, including GPS/GIS integration and advanced testing/monitoring equipment.
  • Prepare technical reports, provide advanced advice on technical analysis, and support productivity through technology integration.
  • Manage projects, budgets, and contracts, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Represent the department in meetings with stakeholders, address public and Council inquiries, and contribute to team projects.
  • Participate in staffing, discipline, performance appraisals, and staff development.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, procedures, and legislation at all work sites.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

 

Key Qualifications

 

  • The knowledge, abilities and skills are obtained through completion of a two-year diploma in Civil, Environmental or Water Resources Engineering Technology and a minimum of two years experience in related roadway and/or traffic engineering/technical field
  • Knowledge of engineering principles, computations, analyses, statistics, and transportation infrastructure planning, design, and maintenance.
  • Experience with sampling, monitoring programs, and field/laboratory testing procedures.
  • Proficiency in drafting, surveying, GIS, and CAD software (e.g., ArcView, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Understanding of staff supervision, leadership, and regulatory compliance, including Occupational Health and Safety standards.
