At Day & Ross, our dock team is an important part of our business. As a Dock Worker, you’ll help us handle inbound and outbound customer freight and protect it from damage. You'll also help us keep a safe and clean work environment on the dock.

How You’ll Help: 

• Handle big and bulky freight on the dock, both on and off a forklift.
• Follow TDG, WHMIS, and company policies, as well as any customer requirements.
• Pay attention to the details. Receive and ship freight accurately and efficiently.
• Shunt and move trailers within yard to proper door. 
• Other duties as required.

Your Skills & Experience: 

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous transportation or dock experience is preferred
• Willingness and ability to lift up to 75 lbs. 
• Ability to work efficiently with little to no supervision

Schedule: Nights: 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. 5 on – 4 off;  5 on – 5 off; 4 on – 5 off

Facility Location- Brampton  - On-site

Shift/Hours – Monday to Thursday 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM

Planning, organizing and monitoring incoming and outgoing freight to ensure the most timely and efficient utilization of dock space, equipment and movement of freight. 

How You’ll Help

• Review routing matrix and manifests in order to:
  • Plan for trailers to be stripped and for LTL and TL loads.
  • Assign trailer to dock door for greatest efficiency.
  • Monitor the availability of trailers (single and LCVs) to make the greatest use of all resources.
  • Ensure all trailer and route planning is in accordance with transportation laws and company policies regarding weight and weight distribution, cubing, transportation of dangerous goods, etc.
• Monitor and review close times and productivity, noting trends to support improvement initiatives.
• Make suggestions for improvement in planning and dock processes for increased efficiency.
• Other related duties as may be required.

Your Skills & Experience: 

• Minimum of secondary education, with preference for post-secondary education in Supply Chain or Logistics Management.
• A suitable combination of education and experience may also be considered. 
• Minimum of two years’ experience in dock operations, preferably in the transportation industry.
• Other experience in the transportation may also be considered and in addition to dock experience would be an asset.
• Strong communication skills in both English and French.
• Advanced computer skills with strong Excel capability as well as experience with other MS Office products and web based programs.  Previous experience with AS-400 is an asset.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast paced environment.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to respond to demands in a calm manner.

As the first line of support, Heavy Equipment Technicians are an integral member of Canadian Natural’s Mining team. You will directly support mine maintenance goals and objectives at our Albian Mine. In this role, you will collaborate with and work alongside field and shop maintenance crews to ensure that all heavy equipment is optimized and maintained. You will utilize your heavy-duty mechanical experience to focus on the maintenance requirements for designated heavy equipment including Haul Trucks, Dozers, Graders, Loaders, Excavators and other support equipment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role supervises maintenance activities, including the repair, maintenance, and installation of machinery and equipment. How you will make contributions that matter:

• Lead and coach maintenance teams by fostering proactive communication, enhancing employee engagement, managing disciplinary actions, encouraging participation, providing individualized feedback, and conducting performance appraisals. • Promote safe working conditions and ensure all maintenance team members understand and follow safe work procedures.
• Provide shift reports and communicate equipment and job statuses to relevant personnel and departments to foster a collaborative approach.
• Manage, develop, and mentor employees by leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes for recurring issues.
• Enhance departmental performance, productivity, and cost control by identifying recurring problems and preparing preventative and scheduled work orders within a determined timeframe.
• Conduct trend analysis, tracking, and forecasting to determine the lifecycle of equipment and parts.
• Perform administrative functions as required and carry out any additional duties as assigned.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

• Post-secondary Diploma or degree in a related field or trade certification (millwright or electrician preferred)
• Three or more years of verifiable maintenance supervision or management experience within a manufacturing environment is a requirement
• Technical knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (SAP or Fiix is preferred)
• Efficient with MS Office and computer proficiency include knowledge on PLC logic is required
• Highly organized with strong analytical, coordination and communication skills
• Is comfortable working independently and with a team, with the ability to be flexible
• Proficient and dependable in current position, high level troubleshooter and analytical skills
