Major Responsibilities:

  • Performs analysis of enterprise software, hardware and transmission facility using diagnostic tools to ensure the optimum operation and maintenance of technology solutions.
  • Ensures pro-active action is taken for the operation, installation and support of the enterprise systems and solutions.
  • Provides assistance and technical support in the planning, assessment, design, construction and implementation of upgrades to the existing systems and enhancements/additions of future enterprise technologies.
  • Conducts research and evaluations of enterprise hardware/software solutions and makes recommendations.
  • Maintains security on all enterprise server hardware, software and network, including set up, revision and cancellation of securities.
  • Monitors enterprise systems, products and network usage, performance and capacity. Performs trend analysis for system improvements.
  • Performs enterprise-wide user accounts administration including addition, deletion and change of user accounts according to approved policy, standards and procedures.
  • Responds to user inquiries, investigates and analyzes problems and develops solutions and/or action plans.
  • Conducts, updates and improves reviews of documentation, manuals, standards and procedures.

     Key Qualifications:

  1. Extensive experience working with Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL RDBMS products & its tools, including Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle RMAN, OID, Oracle APEX & Warehouse Builder, Enterprise Manager.
  2. Considerable experience with database high availability and disaster recovery solutions, including Oracle Real Application Cluster, Data Guard, SQL clustering, replication and always-on availability groups.
  3. Experience in installing, configuring and supporting Oracle and PostgreSQL in Linux along with SQL Server on Windows.
  4. Experience in implementing backup and recovery solutions as per applications requirements along with disaster recovery solutions.
  5. Experience in implementing security standards and applying patches and upgrades for Oracle, SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

     You Must Also Have:

  • Ability to perform enterprise software, hardware and transmission facility analysis using diagnostic tools to ensure the optimum operation and maintenance of technology solutions.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and investigate performance related issues and provide recommendations to achieve optimal execution.
  • Ability to suggest and implement security solutions and strategies in line with set standards and guidelines.
  • Ability to proactively think and plan for the operation, installation and support of the enterprise systems and solutions.
  • Knowledge of installing, configuring, administrating, maintaining and upgrading Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) and companion products & tools.
  • Effective coordination and communication in providing assistance and technical support in the planning, assessment, design, construction and implementation of upgrades to the existing systems and enhancements or additions of future enterprise technologies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate detailed technical information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Provide leadership and direction to Operators on the line with particular focus on blending, formulation, CCPs, and documentation.
  • Provide guidance on product SOPs and steps in formulating product blends while maintaining traceability and proper documentation of lot codes and batches in SAP.
  • Conduct CCP and/or Prerequisite Program training including verification of training effectiveness. This includes training related to implementation of new programs and corrective actions related to deviations.
  • Immediately address deviations to FSQA procedures by coaching and re-training.
  • Support the investigation of customer and consumer complaints including documentation of findings and drafting responses as appropriate.
  • Write and revise FSQA SOPs including maintenance of the product SOPs, FSQA SOPs and electronic directories.
  • Maintain and deliver GMP Training and CCP presentations as a member of the plant new hire orientation program.
  • Conduct HACCP reassessment, monitoring, and verification to meet regulatory requirements including updates to forms, documents, and programs as required.
  • As a member of the cross-functional team, investigate, document (In SAP Non-conformance system) and establish/implement appropriate corrective action to address deviations related to all programs with specific focus on foreign material and quality critical non-conformances.
  • Maintain hold and release databases - internal and SAP. 
  • In-depth analysis of CTQ (Critical to Quality) data as collected in SAP including tracking and trending for interpretation and development of actions to address deviations.
  • Support all aspects of audit preparation and execution including documentation, preparation, program review, on-site inspection, training and other duties as required.
  • Collect samples and conduct raw material sensory assessment and communicate results to Operations.
  • Perform other SAP functions as required such as hold/release program, inspection lot oversight, usage decisions, etc.
  • Provide support to hourly Production Operators in delivery of FSQA procedures.
  • Participate in Period review, Town Hall meetings, other communication sessions.
  • Assist CFIA inspectors with CVS tasks or other support as requested.
  • Participate in Six Sigma projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor of Science or College Diploma in Food Safety/Science program or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years previous experience in a technical food manufacturing role is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
  • 3 years progressively responsible experience in buildings, maintenance and operations is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the occupational dangers and safety precautions of the trades involved
  • Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in one or more of the building or mechanical trades applicable to work assignments
  • Knowledge of departmental and civic policies, regulations and operations affecting the work assigned
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Safety tickets/training, minimally including a current First Aid Certificate, fall arrest, confined space, WHIMIS, CSTS will be considered an asset and preference will be shown towards candidate holding valid & current training.  Proof of training maybe requested.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support plant operations
  • Deliver maintenance support for capital projects
  • Maintain condition of production equipment, shop equipment and tools
  • Support process safety management and location safety efforts
  • Conduct seasonal prep work including preventative maintenance and equipment reliability tasks
  • Ensure proper set-up, calibration, operation and preventative maintenance of equipment, machines and facilities
  • Utilization of predictive maintenance tools and techniques to detect and remedy machine failures
  • Create, continually update, adhere to and train preventative maintenance plans for process equipment
  • Maintain detailed equipment records and prints
  • Participate in root cause analysis of equipment failures
  • Participate in pre-and post-mortems for annual production processes
  • Provide experience on failure and repair techniques during root cause analysis
  • Ensure repair techniques, repair procedures and equipment specific training are documented and made available
  • Assist in creation of work instructions for maintenance related tasks
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

 

Education:

  • You have your High School Diploma/GED

  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary

  • Willing and able to lift up to 50lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Journeyman industrial mechanic experience

The Engineering Services Division, Water Planning and Project Delivery Branch is offering seasonal employment opportunities from approximately May 6 to August 30, 2024.

As the Seasonal Technical Assistant you will be:

  1. Assisting the branch in undertaking a variety of condition assessment related projects for water infrastructure.
  2. Supporting water planning and project delivery initiatives and decision making through work with water modeling, GIS queries, field investigations, and record searches.
  3. Establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, external contacts, and the public.
  4. Required to work outside under sometimes unfavourable weather conditions.

Your education and qualifications include:

  1. Successful completion of at least one (1) year of a recognized university or college program in Engineering.
  2. Ability to use Microsoft Office products including Access.
  3. Ability to use engineering software and/or basic knowledge of computer programming.
  4. Knowledge of water systems and their operation.
  5. Familiarity in the use of GIS software.
  6. Ability to interpret construction and record drawings and specifications.

Conditions of employment:

  1. The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
  2. Possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
