Responsibilities

• Responsible for transporting products and raw materials to and from branches (Kenora, Dauphin, Brandon) and plant locations
• Driving a Tractor/Trailer and LCV, days and times to be determined
• May be responsible for picking up raw materials from suppliers and returning to the plant.

Qualifications

• A valid Class 1 Driver’s license required;

• Ability to demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills and professional driver techniques in a highway and inter city environment
• Candidates will perform a proper brake adjustment, and complete a thorough Pre-trip inspection, identifying components most subject to wear.
• Dependable with strong customer focus and the ability to quickly adapt to the changing needs of our internal customers.
• 1,000,000 highway miles or more long haul experience preferred.

Shift Start (4 shifts available):

1 AM to 6 AM

2 AM to 7 AM

UPS Package Driver delivers and picks up packages to and from residential and/or commercial properties. Performs in a physical, fast-paced environment involving driving, continual lifting, lowering, and carrying packages. Practices safe transportation methods while traveling to and from destinations. The City of Edmonton’s Integrated Processing and Transfer Facility (IPTF) is where waste arrives and is divided into three separate waste streams: organics processing, biofuels production and landfill. As an Equipment Operator III at our facility, you will apply your equipment operation experience to transfer waste material in a busy, high-traffic area. You will succeed in this position if you work well on a team and can communicate in a respectful and inclusive way.

What will you be doing? 

• Operate equipment such as forklift, skid-steer, AWP (Aerial work platform), loader and backhoe
• Working at heights, climbing ladders
• Perform light maintenance and cleaning of the equipment and fill out relevant paperwork for lockout/tagout work
• Identify, troubleshoot and report any equipment mechanical issues
• Support general site operations with directing traffic & other tasks
• Attend and participate in safety meetings and advise of any health and safety concerns
• Clearing plugs in the system when they occur
• Other related duties as required

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent or higher
• 2 years of experience in equipment operation, including training and experience in equipment listed above
