In this role, you will be responsible for providing guidance and support to employees on HR policies, HR programs, benefits, pension and pay related provisions of multiple collective agreements and the terms & conditions of employment. Formula for success

- Utilizing your excellent organizational and prioritization skills, you will manage pay related changes in accordance with collective agreement provisions and non-unionized compensation guidelines.
- You will be responsible for administering pension and benefit programs in accordance with plan and legislated criteria.
- Providing excellent customer service, you will support and guide management on Human Resources programs, policies, and procedures.
- You will prepare ad hoc and prescribed reports.
Desired education and skills
- You will have a minimum of one (3) years related experience related to Human Resources, and/or supporting an HRIS system, preferably SAP.
- Completion of a post-secondary level education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- You will have previous experience providing employee support for pay related inquiries and benefits/pension administration.
- Previous experience working within a unionized environment will be considered an asset.
- The role requires an intimate knowledge of multiple collective agreement provisions relating to pay and employee entitlements.
- Technical skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

- Manage the Hospital of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) for all employees. Including regular auditing, missed contributions for employees on leaves and annual reconciliation

- Reconciliation of year-end T4/T4A’s tax slips and government reporting, and regular auditing throughout the year
- Preparation of all biweekly, monthly and annual remittances for third-party vendors and government organizations (i.e. union dues, benefit carriers, WSIB, EHT, Taxes)
- Complete WSIB Form 7 earnings reporting
- Maintain and update documentation regarding HR and Payroll processes and controls
- Support continuous process improvements and reengineering

- Testing any new enhancements or fixes to PeopleSoft before they are released into Production environment with support from the technical team

- Supports managers during the investigation, analysis of the various files, the conduct of meetings and the drafting of the various correspondence and measures required, etc.
- Ensures the complete management of grievances and participates in the various joint committees (grievance committee, labor relations committee, etc.).
- Proceeds with dispute settlement agreements and participates in the preparation of files subject to hearings before the various administrative tribunals (arbitration, TAT, etc.).
- Manages complaints of psychological harassment in collaboration with managers.
- Creates and maintains relationships with the union party in order to maintain harmonious working relations.
- Supports managers in change management and communications within the framework of major projects related to the distribution center and participates in working committees.
- Completely manages disability files (illness, SAAQ, IVAC) and coordinates employees’ requests for parental leave and union members’ unpaid leave.
- Answers employees' human resources questions and redirects them to the appropriate resource persons as needed.
- Contributes to the optimization of the various processes under his responsibility with a view to improving their efficiency.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of departmental performance indicators.
- Performs all other related tasks.
The qualifications we are looking for:
- Hold a university degree such as a bachelor's degree in industrial relations, human resources or its equivalent.
- Have between three (3) and five (5) years of experience in labor relations or human resources.
- Having professional experience in a unionized environment is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the SAP system is an asset.
