Distinguishing Characteristics: 

We're looking for a serious and motivated individual, who is completely passionate about security, and capable of handling both administration and training. This person should also have a deep understanding of emergency measures.

Work Schedule

• Weekday daytime schedule 
• Basic schedule from 8 AM to 4 PM (with occasional additional hours for training needs)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• The lieutenant monitors adherence to the standard schedules of the sergeants, ensuring that day, evening, and night shifts are properly observed and adjusting the schedules as needed.

• He is responsible for drafting disciplinary reports concerning staff, documenting the necessary observations to ensure compliance with rules and maintaining a work environment that meets standards.

• The lieutenant organizes and conducts training in Emergency Measures Plans and regular training for security officers, covering day, evening, night shifts, and weekends, to ensure adequate preparation for emergency situations.

• He manages IT and administrative needs (SharePoint PDR), ensuring that documents and information are regularly updated and properly archived, facilitating access and management of necessary resources. The lieutenant is responsible for managing security personnel files, ensuring that all documents are up-to-date, complete, and compliant with administrative and regulatory requirements.

• He implements continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing work methods and developing initiatives to enhance work quality while reducing the risk of workplace injuries.

• The lieutenant oversees the management of patrol vehicles, ensuring their proper functioning, regular maintenance, and availability for security missions.

• In the absence of the coordinator, he assumes their responsibilities, ensuring continuity of operations and effective management of tasks and ongoing emergencies.

• The lieutenant creates and maintains punch rounds, defining the routes and frequencies of checks to ensure adherence to security procedures.

• He supervises the management of external sites and responds to additional security-related requests.

• The lieutenant provides administrative support to the coordinator by assisting with document management, task coordination, and facilitating daily operations. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

• Valid security agent license (BSP)
• Valid first aid certificate (CPR)
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (MANDATORY)
• Experience in team management and supervision (MANDATORY)
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures. 
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients at various social levels and in diverse cultures.
• Ability to provide positive direction and motivate performance. 
• Availability for weekend shifts.
• Flexibility for training different shifts.
• Good computer skills

Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. Under the supervision of an Aquatic Program Specialist or Aquatic Training Specialist, this position performs responsible lifeguard and/or instructional duties at any City of Regina aquatic facilities. The work assigned involves ensuring the safety of patrons and proper facility usage. This position may be transferred between aquatics facilities and will be required to work non-standard hours.


Typical duties include:

• Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed an in cases of emergency, performs first aid, water rescues and other lifeguarding skills and techniques as required.
• Carries out responsible lifeguard and instructional duties and ensures a safe and healthy environment conducive to aquatic enjoyment and education.
• Participates in mandatory sessional staff training and development programs.
• Assumes responsibility for individual lesson plans, class attendance, class evaluations, progress cards, and test sheets as required.
• Enforces swimming pool rules and regulations as outlined by the City of Regina and the Saskatchewan Public Health Act.
• Assists in cleaning and disinfecting duties, as required.
• Supervises the activities of the patrons using the facility, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Maintains good public relations with patrons and facility staff.
• Performs related duties as required.

Under the general supervision and direction of Corporate Security Management, you will be responsible for carrying out security duties as a front-line Security Guard (Full Time) for the City of Toronto's Corporate Security Section, at various City owned and/or operated facilities, in order to protect life, City assets and facilities.

Major Responsibilities:

• Provides security services to City owned and/or operated properties through the operation of various security systems and patrolling, including responding and effectively handling emergency and non-emergency, security and law enforcement calls, maintaining the utmost confidentiality at all times
• Monitors and patrols assigned areas of City owned and/or operated properties and the surrounding grounds through physical patrols and by monitoring various security systems Observes, investigates, and acts on possible breaches of security, criminal code violations, fire and safety hazards, illegal entry, theft, and malfunction or interruption of utilities, machinery or equipment
• Responds to public inquiries and represents the City of Toronto Corporate Security Division by promoting security services that contribute positively to the results of the division, and corporate vision

Key Qualifications:

1. Considerable experience providing facility security including the use of security systems and key systems.
2. Post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function or the approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid Security Guard License in accordance with the Ontario Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005, S.O. 2005, c. 34.
4. Possession of and the ability to maintain a valid certificate in Standard First Aid and CPR level 'C' and be certified to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
5. Strong knowledge of legislative policies such as the Criminal Code, Trespass to Property Act and WHMIS.
