Under supervision of the Parking Services Manager, this position installs, inspects, maintains, repairs, replaces, and collects money from parking pay stations and provides services to deliver the temporary reserved parking program.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs collections from parking pay stations according to an established schedule.
  • Sorts and packages coins by denomination using mechanical sorting and packaging equipment. Trouble-shoots coin-handling equipment. Prepares bank deposit forms and records collection amounts. Tracks daily work and submits records.
  • Responds to daily customer complaints and equipment monitoring reports regarding parking pay station operation, takes action, and records findings.
  • Inspects and maintains parking stations.  Repairs or replaces faulty parts and installs, removes, and relocates existing parking pay stations. Orders and tracks inventory of parts, tools, and equipment. Monitors performance of pay stations and tracks actions taken. 
  • Installs new parking pay stations.
  • Provides services to deliver the temporary reserved parking program and maintains accurate records, as required.
  • Communicates closely with Parking Services Dispatch to deliver timely and responsive service for customers. 
  • Operates, and ensures the proper maintenance of, a City vehicle.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Two years' related experience in the repair and maintenance of small mechanisms including electronic parking pay stations. 
  • Electronic repair and maintenance training would be considered an asset.
  • Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
  • Knowledge of the geographic area of the city where parking pay stations are located.
  • Knowledge of the tools, parts, mechanisms, methods and materials used in installing, servicing, repairing, and replacing parking stations.
  • Ability to diagnose common defects of electronic parking stations and to detect, by inspection, any worn, broken or improperly adjusted components and provide the necessary maintenance/repair as prescribed by the manufacturer.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service 
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties, and to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated skill in accurate record-keeping and quality assurance of work.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of a computer using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and lift repetitively 25 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Recognized Journeyman certificate in the trade of Automotive Service Technician
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent); Class 3 with Air Brake endorsement is preferred
  • Hire is dependent upon an Enhanced Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton. There may be a cost associated with this requirement 
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a City Driver's permit and to be licensed by the Province of Alberta to do Commercial Vehicle Inspections (CVIP)
  • Capable of competently using vehicle diagnostic computer programs
  • Able to accurately enter data and information into a computer (AssetWorks M5 experience is an asset)
  • Experience with and the ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, floor hoists and diagnostic equipment (electrical, hydraulic), etc.

Engineering Services contributes to the overall City’s purpose by providing many services and public works facilities. Street Operations Workers maintain and construct City streets, lanes and sidewalks.

 

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Operations workers perform general construction tasks such as concrete finishing, form setting, boulevard restoration, drain tile installation, asphalt raking and conduit installation. Operations workers also perform maintenance tasks such as pressure washing, bridge painting and pothole repair. The work is performed outdoors, in all weather conditions and is physically demanding. Functional and or physical assessment related to the bona fide position requirements may be required. Successful candidates are required to be fit tested annually, carry, maintain and wear respirators as operationally required.  Jewelry, long hair and facial hair may impede a complete seal of a respirator and will need to be adjusted or removed to ensure a seal can be achieved.

 

Street Operations functions 365 days per year. Successful candidates must be able to work Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm and may be required to adjust shifts as operationally required.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Up to completion of high school and some laboring experience in construction.
  • Experience working in roles requiring learning new skills, procedures and processes.
  • Experience working with asphalt and/or concrete is an asset.
  • Experience with bridge maintenance activities and working from heights is an asset.

We are looking for a Field Service Technician for Nestlé Professional based in South Shore of Montreal to cover Brossard to Drummondville region. A day in the life: 

 

  • Receive dispatched service call via dispatcher.

Role Requirements 

 

  • Bilingualism in English and French language skills are a requirement
  • Secondary education diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of previous field service experience.
  • Working knowledge in electrical, mechanical reading schematics, measuring load and customer service.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and install equipment of up to 55lbs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and willingness and commitment to first time fix and customer service excellence.

  • Provides observations about facility, facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems conditions and deficiencies and provides recommendations for enhancement and repair.
  • Monitors assigned facility by conducting facility walkthroughs, mechanical and electrical equipment and system monitoring and inspection
  • Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment within the limits of company policy and trade certification and oversees service providers.
  • Responds to routine and on-demand service requests and performs preventative and corrective maintenance on  facility mechanical and electrical equipment and systems  within the limits of company policy and trade certification
  • Manages work order life cycle progressing the work form dispatched through to complete and records resolution data within service maintenance management database.  Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response and all other requirements
  • Receives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance and repair work within service maintenance management database.  Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required.
  • Assists in the implementation of preventative maintenance (PM) program.  Ensures that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documents are maintained.
  • Participates in facility-related projects.
  • Ensures the manner in which work is performed is in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, fire protection and any other applicable requirements.
  • Maintains all assigned tools and arranges for repair and replacement where required 
  • Submits all expenditures on a timely basis  
  • Assists in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations through manner in which work is performed and services delivered.
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Requirements

  • Must be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs as they arise. Regular shift would be Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm
  • Must strictly adhere to Health and Safety policies and processes including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • 3-5 years of facility operations and maintenance work experience
  • High school diploma plus trades training and certification or licensing
  • Advanced ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
  • Advanced ability to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical building systems and equipment within the limits of certifications and policies
  • Advanced troubleshooting and resolution skills in order to determine and resolve building mechanical and electrical equipment and system issues
  • Current knowledge of fire, life, safety and building codes and standards and ability to research and apply related codes and standards
  • Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset.  Ability to perform work in a safe manner
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification

Job Details

Responsible for preventative maintenance, pre-inspection maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on the company’s fleet of trucks in accordance with the applicable level of training and apprenticeship.

How You’ll Help

  • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of trucks according to work orders and in keeping with level of training/apprenticeship (see below)
  • Maintaining safe shop environment (may include snow removal from the roof, de-icing, washing vehicles, sweeping, etc. 
  • Journeyperson Technicians independently repair and maintain trucks (see above) and provide general direction, guidance, mentoring and training to Pre-Apprentice and Apprentice Technicians.     
  • Maintenance and repair of truck bodies, including miscellaneous accessories such as hubcaps, decals, reflective tape, painting, etc. 
  • Documentation of all findings and work done.
  • Lead Journeyperson Technicians provide work direction for all team members and act as escalation point for complex maintenance and repairs.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and training to Pre-Apprentice and Apprentice Technicians 
  • Work independently to complete diagnostic, service, repair, and maintain trucks.
  • Maintain and repair truck bodies, including miscellaneous accessories such as hubcaps, decals, reflective tape, painting, etc. 
  • Document and update Service Supervisor/Service Manager on completion time changes, all findings, work done and potential future service requirements.
  • Other duties as may be required.

Your Skills & Experience: 

  • Post-secondary training in truck repair and/or completion of truck technician certificate course
  • Preference given to applicants with Red Seal journeyperson certification
  • Additional training in tire repairs and/or refrigeration will be considered an asset 
  • CVIP, an asset
  • Candidates enrolled in trailer repair apprenticeship may also be considered.
  • Valid Class 1 license also considered an asset
  • Previous work experience in an industrial environment, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Previous experience and qualification to perform Safety inspections is required in this position. 
  • Physically fit and able to lift, move, reach, bend, walk, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel and crouch for extended period of time
  • Ability to work in tight spaces
  • Strong knowledge of transportation industry’s rules and regulations regarding transport trucks, trailers, and components
  • Knowledge of and ability to use safe work practices, including safe lifting and bending, working in tight spaces, etc.     
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
