The Maintenance Repairperson is the intermediary between facilities and their maintenance requirements. In this fast paced environment, you will be working on multiple requests and ensuring the requests are completed in a timely fashion. This role is also responsible for maintaining the lifecycle of all tools assigned to their facilities in accordance with all internal policies and procedures. This includes the purchase, delivery, inventory and any preventative maintenance requirements. Other additional tasks will include assisting with snow removal, assisting with trench cleaning, conducting safety inspections, ensuring preventative maintenance plans are being followed and rotating through a 24/7 on-call schedule for minor Fuel Maintenance at the city’s Fuel Sites.

- Liaising between the facility and the Facility Maintenance Service group to ensure work orders are submitted, processed and closed in a timely fashion
- Ensure that any and all preventative and planned maintenance is conducted in a timely fashion in accordance to the City’s policy
- Perform semi-skilled manual labour activities in Infrastructure Maintenance which may include but are not limited to: safety inspections and repairs, rehabilitation of assets, winter snow removal
- Perform rough carpentry work in the repair, maintenance and alteration of buildings
- Inspects cranes and other major assets on an ongoing schedule, reporting and following up with deficiencies
- Removal of furniture and fixtures when necessary
- Work closely with on-site facility Forperson/Supervisor and perform related work as required
- Ability to operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, shop tools, as well as the frequent operation of motor vehicles and other equipment
- Use equipment and tools that may include but are not limited to: trucks, skid steers, trailers, blowers, chainsaws, snow blowers, tampers, tapers, tractors, shovels, rakes, axes, power saws and other power/hand tools
- Regularly performs inspections on equipment to ensure equipment is functioning properly and has no irregularities; performs minor maintenance on equipment
- Performs work in a safe and efficient manner following policies and regulations; participates in safety talks, writes up simple reports (inspection reports, accident reports, inventories etc.) etc.

Qualifications
- Completion of the tenth school grade; experience or training in building and mechanical maintenance and repair work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
- 3 years progressively responsible experience in buildings, maintenance and operations is considered an asset
- Knowledge of the occupational dangers and safety precautions of the trades involved
- Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in one or more of the building or mechanical trades applicable to work assignments
- Knowledge of departmental and civic policies, regulations and operations affecting the work assigned
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Skill in the use and care of the tools required to perform the work assignments
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships as necessitated by work assignments
- Ability to perform outside tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic proficiency in Google Applications and operating tablets, smartphones and laptops
- Compliance with the City of Edmonton's safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as wearing steel toed boots, is a requirement for this position

Qualifications

The Edmonton Police Service requires an organized and efficient administrative professional to provide support to the Southwest Branch in its entirety. Responsibilities will include:
- Creating and maintaining filing systems and diary date systems.
- Manage the Inspector and/or Staff Sergeant’s calendar in addition to booking meetings and appointments.
- Sorting and distributing incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintaining and distributing notebooks and notebook databases.
- Updating CARM with member court notices and providing CARM assistance when required.
- Monitor, collect and submit vacation schedules for branch members.
- Maintaining, sorting, processing, and distributing the City Photo Violation tracking database and forms.
- Maintaining, sorting, processing, and distributing the Criminal Flight Events, Professional Standards Branch concerns, APP branch tracking database and forms.
- Completing and managing transfer documentation.
- Managing and tracking divisional equipment resources (iPad and carbines)
- Maintaining stationery supplies and restocking as needed.
- Prepare agendas, taking meeting minutes (including ordering catering and sending out invites).
- Monitoring incoming (notifications) and emails for court cancellations and notifying applicable Members.
- Other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects with an emphasis on word and information processing, or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications.
- A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, CARM, Adobe Acrobat and the aptitude to learn new software systems.
- Data entry experience, with a high degree of accuracy.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills are required.
- Able to exercise sound judgment and to maintain respectful and effective working relationships.
- Applicants may be tested.
- As part of your pre-hire screening you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.
Hours of Work:
33.75 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hour of work program.
Salary Range:
21M, Salary Grade: 006, $23.66 - $29.38 (Hourly), $1,597.30 - $1,983.50 (Bi-Weekly), $41,690.05 - $51,769.02 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.

This position is critical to support Community Activation in the implementation of a key action of the Safe Mobility Strategy (SMS). Vision Zero, through the SMS, directly supports Council’s four strategic goals and has significant public safety ties, as the goal is to achieve zero traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Community Activation, the Community Activation Clerk provides administrative support to the Safe Mobility section’s public-facing programs and services.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Support key actions from the Safe Mobility Strategy, including Vision Zero Street Labs, the Vision Zero School Kit and the Safe Speeds Toolkit.
- Manage the section’s public email inboxes, 311 scripts, Posse responses, and public website updates
- Coordinate logistics and provide support to the Community Activation team engaged in the Vision Zero Street Labs, the Vision Zero School Kit and the Safe Speeds Toolkit programs.
- Manage tasks such as ordering materials, signage, and supplies, working closely with internal partners to facilitate processes on behalf of the public (e.g., OSCAM permits), booking meetings, and overseeing the deployment of resources like mobile driver feedback signs.
- Maintain significant touchpoints with the public, as well as internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout project initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the Section Administration Clerk to develop content and approaches for public responses, especially utilizing the Safe Mobility Section Standard Response document.
- Use the Safe Mobility Section Standard Response document to ensure consistency in addressing common questions, concerns, and requests received by the section.
- Serve as a backup for the Section Administration Clerk as needed.
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Completion of grade 12 including business subjects with an emphasis on word and information processing or a Business or Office Administration certificate
- A minimum of 2 years diversified office experience including data entry, writing and preparing correspondences, taking a preparing meeting minutes, maintaining complex databases and filing systems
- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat and G-Suite, including G-mail, Google Docs and Google Sheets
- Ability to establish priorities and effectively handle several tasks simultaneously assigned from multiple co-workers
- Experience with internal systems such as SAP (for PM notifications), Peoplesoft and POSSE are assets
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills including accurate spelling and grammar
- Strong technical, and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an active team member
