The Collections Operations Ont is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will be responsible for clerical work under the supervision of the manager. You will adhere to all current operating procedures and practice good judgment in the performance of job responsibilities while promoting the Centre’s objectives through good interpersonal skills.
Formula for success
- Supports the apheresis program through scheduling and tracking of donor appointments.
- Handles mail system (including bulk mail); opens and distributes mail and other receptionist duties.
- Maintains and keeps records of and requisitions supplies; reports faulty supplies and equipment.
- Coordinates, completes and updates work assignments, attendance records and staffing/volunteer schedules.
- Performs other department related tasks and duties as assigned.
Desired education and skills
- Formal education and experience Grade 12 with business subjects and a minimum of 2 years relevant office experience.
- Skills required – Accurate keyboarding and computer skills, experience in word processing and spreadsheet software and ability to operate office equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with various staff levels; ability to deal with the public is essential.

A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do: Reporting to the Facility Maintenance Supervisor, the Facility Maintenance Operator is part of a team responsible for the ongoing upkeep of the building envelope and grounds at the London Poultry facility. You will work closely with a variety of specialized contractors to ensure timely completion and adherence to preventative maintenance plans. You will operate yard equipment such as tractors, fork lifts, articulating booms and more to support various functions around the plant.
As a Facility Maintenance Operator, you will:
- Liaison and support facility contractors while onsite performing work or inspections
- Execute minor repairs to the building envelope and systems in a timely manner aligning with the maintenance work management process
- Perform rooftop equipment general maintenance including HVAC filter replacements, inspections, lubrications, etc.
- Perform and participate in facility inspections in accordance with the Food Safety and preventative maintenance programs
- Operate yard equipment such as tractors, fork lifts, articulating booms, scissor lifts, etc.
- Perform housekeeping, janitorial and other general maintenance duties
- Generate work request notifications for corrective repairs discovered during routine inspections
- Sweeping of yard around dock chock mechanisms as required
- Snow removal, salt and sand activities at all man door entrances and safety exits as required
- Lawn and yard work as required which may include lawn cutting, weed removal, parking lot sweep, garbage pickup, as needed
- Be able to work weekends and have flexibility to work a rotating shift
- Other work as assigned by management

What you will do:
- Receive incoming shipments and checking for accuracy
- Put away product to correct areas in the warehouse in a timely manner
- Pick, pack and ship customer orders, including preparing documentation for shipment
