This key position within the Maintenance Department is responsible for the day-to-day operations within the Maintenance Stores. The incumbent will report to the Stores Supervisor. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that parts and supplies are received and issued for Maintenance personnel.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Daily issuance of parts and supplies from stock inventory
- Receiving of all maintenance related parts inventory, work order related materials, contractor service reports and accounting for correct values
- Investigate and follow-up on shipping variances and invoice discrepancies with suppliers
- Daily cycle counts of stockroom inventory and monitoring variances reports
- Prepare packages for shipment, prepare required documentation and schedule pick-ups
- Organization of stock room inventory and re-organization as required
- Picking and staging of materials for work orders and assigning costs
- Technical structure in relation to parts (Bill of Materials) building with maintenance team.
- Follow Maple Leaf C3 policies and procedures related to receiving and inventory
- General housekeeping of stockroom
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You’ll Bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (ex. General Education Development accreditation)
- 2 years’ experience working in a stock room environment (maintenance preferred)
- Inventory management/stockroom related education courses
- Knowledge of stockroom applications and maintenance parts
- Capable of working independently, prioritizing and multi-tasking
- Self-motivated individual with a proven record of working in a fast paced environment
- Working knowledge of SAP asset management systems preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills (oral and written)

- Work closely with the managers, staff and contractors ensuring their workers comply with safety legislation while at work
- Monitor and advise on legislative and technical changes relating to health and safety
- Maintain and expand upon professional competence
- Be an active member of the joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Develop JHA, JSA’s and contribute to the safety contents of SOP’s for on the job training.
- Maintain safety related software programs and provide the information as required.
- Participate in accident investigations and assist supervisors with safety related issues.
- Initiate/develop safety promotion programs.
- Monitor machine or equipment changes, ensuring that health and safety precautions are being considered.
- Identify potentially hazardous situations and take proactive measures to correct them
- Periodically, act as a team leader for task forces and teams (e.g. leading several supervisors on an audit)
- Review internal and external health and safety reports to determine areas that need improvement; implement measures to minimize occurrence of incidents.
What You’ll Bring:
- Grade 12 completion or equivalency
- Completion or enrollment in an accredited Occupational Health and Safety certification program
- Minimum two years experience in the administration of Occupational Health and Safety policies and legislative compliance
- Experience in a health and safety role, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Certification in advanced first aid training or EMR considered an asset
- Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation combined with training hazard recognition, assessment, and control.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with union and management personnel using a collaborative approach.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Strong computer application (Microsoft Office) and analytical skills
